The grounds are on the side of a mountain and the campground slopes in a number of directions. This was probably the least level site we had during our two week trip in June. We enjoyed the campground and the trees. There appeared to be a large number of long term campers there. When we checked in, the owner called Steve. He lives full time and just helps out. He came up on a golf cart and led us to our site. Once there, Steve directed us as we backed into our site. He was very helpful and seems to know about each sites quirks or dangers, such as getting too close to a tree. The pads are a loose gravel. Electric, water and sewer all were fine. We used cable for the first time and it worked well. We had 2 bars on the wifi in the camp. Our site did not have a picnic table and there probably wasn't room for one. It rained much of the time we were there and we did not see a lot of puddling or pools of water. There were two clothes washers and two dryers but one dryer was not working. This campground does not have a lot of amenities for children, no pool or playground.

I am guessing they have 1/2 the sights to yearly and or summer rentals. Easy access to the town and surrounding sights. Steve the camp host is very friendly and helps park everyone that comes in. This is hill country and the camp ground is built into the hill, however there are a lot of big rigs in here. WIFI is mostly good. Having an Airstream means going outside the tin can most of the time to get coverage. Some one mentioned in other reviews the barking dogs...we heard them in the morning, but really not a big deal. This campground is off the main highway and you do hear road noise. Again this did not bother us. I would give them a 5...however the bath and laundry facilities are in need of a serious up grade...clean but very outdated and on there last legs.

We stayed 10 nights and really enjoy Ruidoso. Only complaint was that there is a dog rescue shelter just below our site and from 8am to 2pm the dogs are barking outside. Not constantly but it is annoying. Road noise can also be loud at times. If you have a longer vehicle I would recommend staying just across the street. There is a new campground that has just opened. If you stay at Pine Ridge it is best to stay away from the road on the backside. Cell signal and hotspot worked okay but wasnt perfect.

Hubby saw a huge mule deer buck in the camp. The owner goes above and beyond to make you feel welcome and at home. Looks like the camp is very popular and stays pretty full. Pet friendly. Near downtown Ruidoso and the horse races. Full hookups and Cable TV with lots of stations. Located on the side of a hill with gravel roads. Owner showed us to our spot at the top of the hill. Parked without any trouble.

The most important reason I liked this spot was that it was surrounded by beautiful tall pine trees on a mountain (closest to what I call camping). The people around us were in their 70-80's. It was a friendly bunch of people. The people around us were in their 70-80's. It was a friendly bunch of people. Cons: Like most RV parks, each RV was too close together....but looking around, that seems to be the case everywhere. I would return here, because of the friendly people and the beautiful pine trees.
