I'm sitting here on the Saturday of Labor Day Weekend and I thought I would go ahead and do my review of Slow Play. Normally, when we are first time in an area and RV park, at some point we cruise through the other RV parks to see if we might find one we like for our next time in the area. Not here. We like this park and the owners so much, we have not driven through any of the MANY campgrounds in Ruidoso. We will definitely return for at least a month (escaping the Texas heat). To keep it simple, I will ditto all the positive comments about Slow Play. The few negative comments occurred during the previous owner. This young couple have owned Slow Play for a couple of years (?) and actually run the place and are present "all the time". We are on a two month moho trip and selected Ruidoso as our last stop before heading home to central Texas. We had never been to Ruidoso, so we decided to stay two weeks and get to know the area, plus not traveling over the Labor Day weekend. I'm glad we did. I could actually stay longer, but time to get home. Other reviews mention that some campsites have permanent rigs/residents. This is a separate area and well maintained. The occupants are actually friendly; they wave and speak as we walk our dog.During our stay, the owners threw a get together for all the campers. Unfortunately, we were unable to return. I have nothing negative to say. I really don't have any recommendations for improvement. The only better campground I have stayed in was the resorts that charge 100 plus a day; we were full-timers for 10 years and have stayed in a LOT of campgrounds and resorts (be careful of the term "resort").

Nice owners that share great information about the area. Very helpful at checkin. Drove us to our site and advised on hookups. Water is great pressure and 50amp is what we need. The WiFi may be the best we have used and considering the 12 acres of the park it is a great feature to have. Work was easy to accomplish at the RV. We are here in early May so most restaurants were closed on Tuesday. This area has a lot to explore and is definitely geared to vacationers: zip line, water park, historic stops.

Really like this park, just arrived but well pleased. Not to fancy but just right, great job of decorating their office entry building. I'm surprised its not full yet but this new owner couple will have it full in no time so better visit them quick. I did not check out shower/facilities

A young couple (Jennifer and Scott) purchased it last year from the previous owner just prior to COVID, and with this being NM, they had to close before they even opened. They are working on getting the word out that they are open for business. Clean park with gravel parking pads requiring minimal effort to level. 40 channels of cable (and for the Ladies, 2 Hallmark channels!). Be aware that they don’t currently offer Propane. Just on the eastern edge of town with easy access to other attractions. We’d definitely stay here again!

When you pull in to the park, you are warmly greeted by the park owners, Scott and Jennifer. This park used to be known as The Circle B RV Park. Scott and Jennifer have taken over and renamed the park Slow Play RV Park. Their motto: “Life can be hard....Play it slow!” After a long day’s driving, that sounds really good!!Once Jennifer has checked you in, Scott will escort you to your site on wide paved roads that are easily navigated. You’re pleasantly surprised to find a nice double wide shaded site to accommodate your rig. Scott makes sure that everything is perfect for your setup and you get busy with your typical campground setup. The office area has a store for items you might need as well as ice which saves you a trip to town. Come by the office in the mornings for a friendly cup of coffee. Bathrooms and laundry are spotless. Free cable came with 40 channels that included live Ruidoso Downs Horse Races. While I didn’t try the free campground WiFi, my AT&T hotspot registered 36 down and 7 up and my Verizon MiFi registered 36 down and 19 up. Readings were taken during the busy part of the day and without an antenna booster. (That info may be important for people using cellular options for internet. )Scott and Jennifer have many plans for future upgrades to include a kid’s playground, enclosed dog area, and more. They are very nice personable folks. I highly recommend this RV park and will definitely return.

We have stayed a few other times when it was Circle B campground. New campground owners Scott and Jennifer were super nice. Site was nice and there were very few other campers so it was super peaceful. We will definitely be back.
