This is a big park with beautiful rock scenery, near the north side of the Grand Canyon. Convenient, off highway 89 for up-and-down snowbird traffic. Everything looks new, clean and well-maintained. As Arnold said, 'we'll be back'.

The entrance from the highway is before you see the RV park (coming from Kanab), look for the flags. My GPS couldn't find Grand Plateau so I had to direct to Dark Skies across the highway and almost missed the entry because it's so far away from the campground. Check-in staff was pleasant, nice little clubhouse/lounge behind check-in, heated pool outside (but heater was broken during our stay) and hot tub. Super nice restrooms, showers, and laundry room building down the hill in the RV area. Nice little playground that kept my 4-year-old from being so bored. Lots to do in the area, we've visited several times and find different things to do each time. Drive Cottonwood Road all the way up (Candyland is AMAZING), then visit Grosvenor Arch, then go up to the pavement and turn left past the (what looks like a) failed housing development onto a dirt road, go down a mile or two (or few, can't remember) to Willis Creek Slot Canyon. Hike the toadstools, explore Coral Pink Sand Dunes, walk through the belly of the dragon and climb up to Moqui Caves. For an incredible experience, do a half-day canyoneering guided tour with any of the tour companies in town. We went with Red Desert Adventures becaue they had the available day we needed and it was a bucket-list thing for me to do with my two teen boys. We rappelled down into a canyon, then hiked through a slot canyon that rivals Antelope Canyon (this one was better in my opinion) and learned how to "scoot" across an obstacle and "stub" down 10-foot drops. I'll attach some photos, highly recommend!

We were at another resort in Kanab that only had 2 days available, we move here for 3 night and are pleased with everything so far. We have not used the pool but it looks clean and well maintained. The site is level and well thought out. If in the area put this on your list of places to stay.

Follow the directions they send in your confirmation email and you won’t have an issue finding the entrance. There are 2 large flags to mark it. We were in site P-15, which was 55 feet long and 30 feet wide. Plenty of room for our 40 ft motorhome plus our toad. The interior roads are crushed stone and wide with no sharp turns. Crushed stone site with a concrete patio and picnic table. Since this is a new park the trees are all small, but it seems that each site has at least one tree. Water, electric, sewer all worked with no issues. High pressure on the water, so use a pressure regulator. Others have mentioned problems with dust, but we didn’t experience that. We had some windy days, but they were watering the roadways and dog park on a regular basis so we didn’t have any issues with dust. Our site was well back from the road, so we didn’t get any road noise. WiFi was ok, but seemed to slow down when it got busy. Phone signal on T-Mobile was very low and needed the WiFi for a boost. We’ll be back to this park for sure. We highly recommend it.

We'd definitely stay here again, but not for as long. Pros: - Easy proximity to a lot of fun things to do around Kanab. (In addition to the area's amazing hikes, the town of Kanab also has a few great restaurants--including great vegetarian options!--a cute little drugstore with a soda fountain, etc. Our family especially loved the Rocking V Cafe and the wood-fired pizza place.)- Nice clean level sites with concrete patios and very nice picnic tables. - Staff is friendly, helpful, and inobtrusive. They call if you get a package (as full-timers, package delivery is a big priority for us). - Pool and hot tub are very nice and clean (they keep them covered when not in use). Pretty views of the nearby red rock formations right from the pool!- There's a good work area behind the office / next to the pool, with strong wifi, for folks working remotely who need a space to work. (This is one of the main things we look for in a campground.)- Campground is nice and dark, so you can actually sit out at night and see the gorgeous STARRY SKY!!Cons: - It's flat, dusty, and windy, with no shade. No mature trees around the campground so you feel pretty exposed. And dust devils frequently whirled through the campground, blowing red dust into everything and blowing away chairs and other outdoor items. - Not enough laundry machines; there was frequently a wait to use one. - There's a fine little playground (plus the pool) but not much else for kids. - Cell service and wifi throughout the park were just so-so. Again, we'd definitely go back, but in retrospect I think 8-12 days would have been more than enough time.

  • Mixed emotions about this campground.

It is very rough and dusty. Before we arrived, we looked on their website to see what type of pad was in the site. It said “all-weather surface sites”. Huh, new one on me. Well, in reality it’s packed dirt/sand with a bit of gravel like crush and run. Interior roads are the same packed dirt/sand and gravel. Said dirt/sand gets everywhere especially when the wind blows which it does most of the day. There is no monitoring of speed so cars are zipping around stirring up even more dust. If this place claims the “resort” title, they should at least have paved interior roads. There is a small concrete patio for the picnic table, and it also lined up with our front door(MH). Our site was mostly level and long enough for the MH and toad. Sites are fairly close and some have more distance than others. I noticed that they do come clean up sites after people leave. They will pick up trash if put out by 10:00 AM. The park is right by busy 89 but it’s pretty quiet at night. It does pick up during the day. WII FI either worked ok or didn’t work at all. Verizon was 4g 4 bars so we used our hot spots for the most part. Satellite would not be a problem. The bathrooms are individual and beautiful designed. The laundry is also a nice area. We didn’t use the pool but it looked clean and inviting. The park is near-ish to many attractions – Grand Canyon North Rim, Zion, Bryce Canyon but all are about a 1 ½ – 2 hour drive. Lots of hiking and of course ATV trails. Pretty view of some very big rocks!
