It’s a perfect stopping point and the Road Ranger truck fuel stop had the best diesel prices for hundreds of miles in either direction, using our EFS card. Win win.

We’ve stayed at another place outside Sonora before, at the caverns, but decided to choose this one for our one night stay this time because it offered FHUs and was closer to town and not too far from I-10. It was fine for overnight. The owner Mike guided us in and was great about giving us suggestions for best places to get diesel and groceries. This is a park with both mobile homes and RV spots. No amenities except gravel level sites that are plenty large if you want to stay hooked up overnight - plus the FHUs and a good sunset view. Our MiFi worked well, as did Verizon and ATT cell signals. So did our portable Dish satellite. Price was excellent. We’d stay overnight here again.

We stayed here on our way back from New Mexico and to stop and see the Caverns of Sonora. Mike was fantastic and accommodating of our request for shade. Quiet campground. I would note since you are near the stadium be aware of football games and morning band practice. This didn't bother us as it was a reminder of high school days.

It is, however, an outstanding place to stop if you are headed west on I-10. Mike could not have been more helpful. He suggested we call when we exited I-10 and met us outside the park and led us to our site. The sites are very level gravel, many, or perhaps most of them, are covered (which was really great as we had a bad storm with quarter sized hale), they provide a sewer line, so hook up and unhooking are a breeze, and the place is immaculate. AT&T reception was very good. The cable TV worked well. The town is within walking distance and has several restaurants, a Sonic and a DQ, as well as a museum. The nearby caverns are said to be great. This was a great stay. The very reasonable price also made it a great bargain. We’ll be back!
