Owners were johnny on the spot with greeting us and telling us which sites were available. Not a lot of deep shade where we were, but grassy spots that were shadier were also prime free range chicken turf, and of course peppered with chicken poop, which we wanted to keep the dog from rolling in. She gave us 5 eggs for free since we didn't have room in our fridge for a whole dozen! The river is some distance away, and though it was recommended, we didn't let our dog swim in it due to the amount of algae. Very quiet night's sleep away from the noise of I-10. Tons of deer. Bath house was on the rustic side but very clean. Your best option if traveling this route, and worth the small detour. No wifi, no OATV, 4 bars Verizon.

Nice campground behind a pecan grove and on the north Llane river. Great owners and camp hosts. Well spaced out sites. Deer running through the campground often and free range chickens all about.

We were greeted by the most friendly hosts Jim and Terri. They escorted us to our site, gave us a sample of the wonderful candies pecans, then pointed out some interesting things about the park. They have free range chickens and they sell the eggs.

We arrived in the evening and they escorted us to the site, and when I asked him about local bbq he offered to give me a ride into town! They are located a few miles outside of town, so that’s something to consider if you don’t have a separate vehicle to drive. Also, I have to include, the hosts were also very excited to give our dog loves when most are not happy to see him (he’s a pit/lab mix)

By far the best private campground I have seen. And big rig friendly.

What a gem we found here when our traveling itinerary changed! Beautiful & peaceful setting along the N Pllano River. We loved seeing all of the deer that came out in the late evening along with some wild pigs. This is a farm setting so you’ll see chickens and goats but still very quiet. You won’t be disappointed.

The owners were wonderful and the park was very well maintained. We had full hookups, a picnic table and a firepit. There was no laundry there, so we had to go into town for that. There were a lot of deer in the area (they set out feeders), and they had goats and chickens. We even purchased fresh eggs from the owners. The park was along the Llano River - just a short path to the shoreline. Nice park for families with children. South Llano River State Park is close by. It was open for day use, so we spent some of our days hiking and biking over there. We really liked that state park as well.

Brenda was beyond accommodating to move a few things around and make room for us. True you won’t find a better stay over on the way to Big Bend but why stay a night when you can call this piece of paradise your own? What was suppose to be a short stay extended a month because the family didn’t want to leave.Tucked behind a pecan orchard and along the Llano River this small park has big spaces to roam. Perfect for my family to soak up sun, play with goats, free range chickens and watch the deer come up each day. We loved being able to slow down and enjoy this simple life. We will be back in warmer months to play in the river and take the drive to Devil’s Sinkhole to see the bats. Each spot has a fire pit, table and full hookups. A thriving little town is about 6 miles away with a supermarket, laundromat, amazing BBQ and a really great burger spot. The camp hosts and owners are the nicest neighbors you could ask for - yard eggs, the best candied pecans and firewood all wait you at Pecan Valley RV!!

Texas is in a deep freeze so we needed electric to stay warm. We came in after 8 pm and someone came out to greet us and escort us to our site. They also gave us a bag of pecans as a gift. It made a delicious little dessert. We were in a beautiful farm, under the pecan trees. It was quiet and we got a great nights sleep.

Full hookups with 50 amps. Pecan trees throughout the campground. Bountiful deer wander about. Beautiful and easily accessed fishing spot on the Llano river which is a 5 minute walk from any site. Fresh eggs available and delivered to your site from chickens being raised in an area near the fishing spot. Delicious pecan treats available from the host for a modest price. Very friendly and helpful staff. My only grade below 5 stars if for the location because this campground works very well as a stopover but there really isn't much to do in the area which is not the fault of the campground. The campground WiFi doesn't have a lot of bandwidth and was spotty but worked for browsing and email.

The park is accessed via a frontage road and a minimal amount of noise can be heard from I-10. The park has beautiful mature trees and is tucked in behind a pecan grove. Check in is at the 5th wheel in site 1 (camp host). We overnighted on our way to Fredericksburg and didn’t get a chance to check out the fishing or kayaking. The park wasn’t full and the cold windy weather kept most people inside with the exception of the occasional dog walker. The park internet worked fine for our needs which wasn’t much. I didn’t check out the women’s bathroom but my hubby said the men’s bathroom was old but clean. A major negative is the weak cell service but we really liked this park and would stay here again.
