Large pull thru sites with a fire ring and picnic table. Sites are a little bit too close for our liking. Full hook ups which is always a great thing. Check in was easy, and and employee lead us to our site. Laundry facilities are clean. They have a restaurant on site, we only ordered breakfast and ate it in our camper but it was delicious. It is situated right next to a highway but the noise didn’t bother us too much. It is also very close to all of the attractions (Mount Rushmore, wind cave etc.)Overall a great stay!

Staff and volunteers very friendly. Laundry facilities in every building. Dog park, pool and general store. Perfect for what we were doing. We planned on staying two nights but booked an extra night right before we were supposed to check out with no problems. Had to put the 30' pole up to get good internet for work but the park wifi worked great for streaming. A bit pricey but isn't everything these days....

This is a very nice park with great ambiance, nice appearance, well maintained vegetation, clean facilities, friendly staff, and great location. The roads and sites are well maintained and level gravel. Each site has an illuminated post with the site number that provides lighting at night for hooking up and disconnecting. Spacing between sites is slightly wider than many RV campgrounds and parks. Water pressure is good and the water has no smell odor or objectionable taste. Unfortunately, we do not recommend this campground and would not stay in the future. Wearing of face masks and maintaining social distancing is a respect for others that minimizes the transmission of Covid-19 to campers. Not a single employee at Heartland RV Park & Cabins wore a face mask or maintained social distancing. Although WiFi is provided free, it is a woefully inadequate system. Heartland RV Park & Cabins provides clear notice, the Maximum Transmission Unit (MTU) size of the network is not designed or intended for online gaming, streaming video, torrents, and video chat. Unfortunately, that notice certainly understates the usefulness of the system. We work as we travel and that work is dependent upon consistent WiFi connection for e-mails, data exchange, and general employment communications. Slow WiFi is frustrating, but usable. Systems that consistently and repeatedly drop the user off line, as is experienced with WiFi at Heartland RV Park & Cabins, is useless. This issue is not insufficient WiFi network range. Signal strength is not an issue when most campers are sleeping. i.e. the wee hours of the night. Neither is the lack of reliability of the Heartland RV Park & Cabins WiFi system due to interference with WiFi network signals. Moving around the park does not change the issue of dropping out. It appears Heartland RV Park & Cabins resets their system, dropping all users off line, whenever a preset number of users is exceeded or whenever a preset bandwidth usage is exceeded.

We talked a couple of friends into coming in as we thought everything was good first couple of days. So when friends showed up staff was rude to them, would not allow them to choose their site, so a few day later when a site next to our friends became empty and stayed empty for several days we asked to move due to sewage smell and were told no, so after threatening to leave we were allowed to move, now we have another set of friends set to come in tomorrow and found out that the park booked them in a Premium site @ $950 a month, knowing good and well of friends would never had agreed to that price, in short it’s not a place I will be back to.

The only con is that this park is right off highway 79 so there’s quite bit highway noise, but it also makes this location quite accessible for everything in the Black Hills. That said, the park is extremely well maintained, the staff were always kind and friendly. The pool/hot tub clean and relaxing. There are three seperate shower/laundry facilities which were clean, and roomy. The main office has a store providing maps, and information as well as snacks, drinks and beverages and other items. A section of the park are dedicated for tent camping and the cabins were nice and have a/c, mini fridge and TV. The Park now has a large fenced in area to let your fur babies run and play. There are plenty of WiFi towers throughout the park (30 new wifi towers were added in 2021). Cable service was good also. Close to nearby attractions, groceries and fuel/diesel. The Event Center serves a daily breakfast meals from $5-7, pancakes, breakfast sandwiches, biscuits and gravy, the center also serves hot dinner meals and full service bar with live music. The park offers, daily, weekly and monthly fees. Both 2020 and 2021, I stayed the majority of the summer season, no less than three months. Yes I will return to Heartland RV Park & Cabins every summer.

This park is clean and well kept but there is lots of road noise and the sites are very small. Tow vehicle had to go in overflow parking as spaces are just too short to accommodate, even with our small 23rbs trailer.

We do not typically use campground wifis, but this campground's wifi was surprisingly very good. Also, if you are planning to stay a couple of nights and you are not an Escapee, it may be worth becoming an Escapee. We saved at least $33 a night. The Good Sam discount wasn't nearly as good.

They’re expanding the campground to have hundreds more cramped sites. Our grassy area is big enough to fit a picnic table and hookups for our neighbor. It’s meant to be a home base for tourism, not a place to stay and enjoy. Laundry is $2 to wash, $1.50 to dry. They do serve breakfast every morning and the campground is fairly quiet, in spite of being right off a highway. The pizza place (Lintz Bros) is 1/2 a mile away and delicious! Staff didn’t give us the warmest of welcomes when we got here and it kept me from going into the store until I needed change for laundry. Sites are easy to get in and out of, but the roads are pretty bumpy.
