Only negative is a tiny bit of road noise from Hwy 79 (but not enough to keep me from staying here again).

Rushmore, Keystone, and Custer State Park etc. but we were just there to visit friends in Rapid City since we have visited this area and all the attractions many times before. The campground was quiet and our level FHU site was long enough for our 38’ fifth-wheel and for our dually truck. Sites and interior roads are gravel and looked level. Most have a concrete patio; we did not since we were put in site 32 in a new section of the park. We had plenty of room. There is no WiFi or cable. Both ATT and Verizon worked well as did our portable Dish. We had both a picnic table and a fire ring. We used our Passport America discount which was good for the two nights were there visiting friends. The park also offers Good Sam and FMCA discounts. We would return.

Very convenient to Custer State Park and Mount Rushmore. Park is gravel with small grass patch at each site. The office accepted packages for us, and staff was friendly. They did put a Y adapter on our water line when we were gone, not cool. They should have asked my husband to do it. We only noticed when the staff hooked up a hose to water the patch of grass. I know they have to water but still not cool touching people’s set up without asking. No shade. Had decent AT&T.

Kathy and her husband have put so much into this campground and it shows! The sites are very spacious, level gravel sites with grass and concrete pads for your picnic table (there are 5 new sites out front they just created and are working on getting the grass to grow). We noticed that once a RV leaves, they drive a tractor with a chain over the gravel to ensure it's level before the next one comes. The laundry room has 3 washers and 3 dryers and is very clean. The restrooms were closed but that's because they are under construction to improve them. You can hear the road noise but it really isn't bad. Also, it is a great central point for all this area has to offer, Custer SP, Iron Mountain Road, Needles Hwy, Mt. Rushmore, Keystone, Deadwood, etc. Additionally, there is a restaurant next door you can walk to that has delicious food. We will definitely come back!

Very neat, level, and clean site. The added bonus is a slab with table, grass, and clean gravel(no mud). It is obvious that the owners stay on top of the park. Price is very reasonable also.

We were VERY pleased with the care that has been taken to set up the sites so that they are spacious and level with gravel for RV parking and plenty of room to park our tow vehicle. Each site has a concrete pad with picnic table and a grassy area with a tree. The new owners live on site and are RV'ers themselves. The park was quiet, relaxing and comfortable. The facilities were clean and in good repair. The location is perfect for whatever you want to do in the Black Hills and much closer to the attractions than parks closer to Rapid City. We will definitely stay here again when we come back to this area.

While it would have been amazing to stay within the borders of Custer State Park, that wasn't possible due to the short notice. Our rate of $18.50 was due to Passport America -- such a steal! The sites are nice, super level pull throughs and the campground as a whole is very nice. The laundry and restroom facilities are clean. Besides being near Custer State Park, Wind Cave National Park, Jewel Cave National Monument, Mount Rushmore and Crazy Horse are nearby. Rapid City is 20-25 minutes away, which is where you should go to get groceries as the grocery store in Hermosa is small and a lot of the food is outdated. The location also worked great for us to pick our mail up in Box Elder. Cell service with AT&T and Verizon is good.

Cleanest bathrooms I have EVER seen at a campground or RV Park, which was amazing. I'd come back here just for the bathrooms. Coin-op laundry on site as well. Great location: half hour to Mt. Rushmore, half hour to Custer State Park, 1 hour to downtown Custer/Crazy Horse but the drive takes you though Custer State Park, so it's a lovely 1 hour.Spots are graveled. Ours was not level, but most were. Nothing a few lego blocks couldn't fix. Space was nice in between spots, you weren't breathing down your neighbor's neck. However, no grills/fire pits - no campfires were allowed period, so I wouldn't recommend this place if you're seeking a camping experience. However, if you're just looking for a place to park while you explore the area, look no further.Great AT&T and Verizon signal. Park is right off a main road, so there is some road noise but nothing that bothered us when we were inside the camper. A few RVs here had ATVs and there was a dirt trail at the back-end of the park, so I'm guessing there are trails around. Drive-in movie theater and Flying J right next door. The owners are putting a lot of work into this RV park, and it shows. Everything was spotless, the landscapers were hard at work while we were there, and the camp hosts were very friendly.

The new owners are RVers and it shows. The roads are packed with gravel as are the level sites with plenty of room for large rigs to maneuver. The sites themselves are spacious and thankfully oriented so that the patio has afternoon shade. All RV sites have full hook ups with 20/30/50 amp service. The owners are very hands on with upkeep and have two campground hosts to help out, so there is always someone available if needed. The bathrooms, showers and laundry are very clean and well maintained. Satellite view is old and does not do the park justice. We came for 2 weeks but discovered that the location was perfect for exploring the Black Hills, so we stayed a month. Rate quoted is per night for a month.

It did require some driving, however. This park was recently reopened midseason last year. The sites are gravel and very level with a concrete patio and picnic table. The ground around the sites has been dug up and never leveled off so it is rather unsightly with weeds. There is a decent amount of space between some sites. All sites are FHU with good power and water pressure. The laundry/restroom building is very new. Getting into the park can be tricky unless you know exactly where it is. There are no signs except for the little three store strip in front of the park. The Park sign and three Presidents' heads are facing the highway after you need to turn. Once you wander back to the park, there are no directions and no office. Luckily, the workcamper saw us and came right out. You choose your own site. It is very unorganized. Our rate reflects PPA which they honor for three nights but I got five when registering online. The park is just far enough off the road that you don't get much noise. There is no shade.
