This was the cream of the crop!We loved being outside and enjoying the tiki hut atmosphere. We utilized the laundry mat, walked the gardens, the public dock and park areas. Well maintained and wonderful experience. They knew us by name when we pulled up, and escorted us to our site. Expertly assisted us backing in. Only caveat was we were almost to far from the dump connections (we had two lines)!“Sitting in the dock of the bay, wasting time…”The lizards were so cute and fish were everywhere under our dock! The dock was a bit flimsy and if not careful could be hazardous.. take care there! There is a house directly across from us being built and was extremely noisy in the morning time… so if you aren’t leaving your site.. you may need earbuds!

For some reason, the owners of this site keep the "kitchen" area in the tiki under lock and key behind a heavy duty tarp and therefore, it can't be used. This was a real bummer. Additionally, the site had one of the smallest tikis on the bay side and the furniture definitely left a little to be desired compared to the furnishings at most other sites. Without a doubt, from what we observed, most all of the bay front "gold" sites had better amenities (outdoor kitchens and TV's) and were more lavishly appointed than our site. The "silver" designation would have been more appropriate for this site. When we called the office to have someone come and close off the tiki with its shades from a rainstorm (as you are required to do), no one ever showed up to lower them.Having said all of that, it is hard to beat having your rig backed up to the water, and sitting under a tiki sipping cocktails or eating a meal with the breeze in your face as you take it all in. Fabulous. Additionally, we launched our kayak right from our site for a pleasant paddle around the bay. There is a nice pool area, though it is a bit on the small side. There is no hot tub. The resort streets are easy enough to get around on and are palm-lined.I would never consider coming back to this resort with anything other than a bay front site. The canal sites get no breeze at all, have a view of neighboring housing units and the first ten or so sites have LOTS of road noise. The interior sites offer little in ambiance. It almost seems a shame to be at a resort right on the water, and have no view of it at all, let along getting a whiff of a breeze. There really isn't even anywhere to sit for a spell on a bench on the waterfront if you have an interior site. To be fair, the canal and interior sites are impeccably landscaped and cared for and many have truly great tikis, kitchens, bars, patios and outdoor TV's. But for the money, I just can't see missing out on the water front views and breezes. All in all, its a great place. Just make sure you get a bay front site with good amenities.

We had a canal site with tiki hut, fridge, microwave and bar area perfect for setting up our flat top grill. There's couches and a tv for those who like to lounge and a dock with dining table. The kids loved fishing from the dock. There are local companies that will deliver kayaks, jet skis, bait and tackle and more directly to your site. We took advantage of the kayak delivery and had kayaks tied up to our dock all weekend. We jumped on the kayaks for sunset cruises and to explore the local waters. You could stay here and not leave for any reason other than food and you would enjoy yourself and have a relaxing trip. Highly recommend at least once!

We loved our stay here. It is very quiet and secluded. It’s one big loop so pretty much everyone gets to have a water front area. I ordered a kayak for my son. It was delivered within an hour and was only $40 for a full day. Water is calm and the mangroves are gorgeous. This place is paradise!

The grounds are well kept and beautiful like in a top end hotel resort. We had a tiki hut by the water and the weather was warm in late December. We could go paddle boarding under the stars in the night. We were actually hesitant to pay this much for an RV resort as we don’t usually even like the resort style RV parks, but rather prefer state parks or dispersed camping. We stayed for 7 nights and towards the end we were checking on daily basis if they had more availability so we wouldn’t need to leave. The sites are a bit close to each other, so if you are unlucky and have noisy neighbors I can see how your experience could be different. Our neighbors were fine.

If you’re looking to kick back and enjoy a quiet week by the water, move along.

We stayed in sight 14 on the canal side, the office recommended this sight when we called, and looking around it is the nicest side that is currently available. There are lots of sights and they are all individuality owned, so every sight is private and different. The people who own are sight as well as the staff went above and beyond to make this a unique and special place. Keep in mind we are staying here two months after hurricane Irma, but you wouldn't know it. Coming down the middle key it looked like a war zone, littered with piles of debris, blown out trailers, cars, boats, rvs, cars, even a couple of relocated houses, we wondered if this place would be a disaster. Looks like they had minimal damage. Some of the sights lost there docks and are having the palm fronds replaced on there tiki huts. The foliage was thinned out a bit, but they have done a wonderful job cleaning it up. Our sight has, a tiki hut with cable tv, five seating areas, one under the hut, a bar, Adirondack chairs, dock side, a high top table. There are two grills, charcoal and gal, and a outside kitchen. The sight also come with two kayaks that we took down the canal out into the bay. We have stayed at over a 100 camp grounds on our around the country adventure and this place is like no other. Poo - kay The bathrooms are at the pool and along way off, and I think they might only be for the pool. They want you to use the trailer, well most people here don't have trailers, more like million dollar motor coaches, but we don't go there, if you know what I mean.

We were told the rates weren't set for 2016 yet and we might owe more. I said ok. I wait through March April May June and hear nothing about their possible new rates. I call the office 12 days before arrival and ask if we would owe anymore. She looked at my reservation and said no, you are all paid up. We drive 900 miles here and after the rv is set up she hands us a bill. The first numbers would have us owing here $450, but since we had a difficult trip she knocked us down to $183. I explained that when I signed up I was told the rates "might" go up and when no one contacted me in months after we paid I called and was told that I didn't owe anything else. She made us move to a cheaper lot. The ridiculous part about this is no one ever rented the lot she made us move out of. We will never stay here again. This is a money hungry resort. We have stayed in 30+ rv resorts around the us and have never had anyone do this before.

Located up from Boyd’s at mile marker 14 is the Bluewater Key RV resort which shouldn’t be missed. Each lot is privately owned and rented out to RV owners like you and I. We found out while there that the RV resort is presently run, by 2 different groups (which can be a little confusing when checking in). We did discovered some notable angst between the 2 groups after talking to a few owners. Apparently it boils down to how they view running the grounds and treating renters. So you have folks with multi-million dollar RVs, 6-figure lots with $4500/year HOA dues, having some issues – definitely First World Problems! Upon our departure, the 2 factions were still in litigation to resolve the matter but that didn’t keep us from having a good time and enjoying our stay.Note: This rate before December 19th. Rate triples during peak season.

This beautiful Park is clearly concerned with creating a top-drawer experience in every respect, which made the poor wi-fi reception at our site all the more disappointing. However, this was the only blemish in an otherwise first-class experience. The attitude of the staff is best exemplified by the fact that a staff member will escort you to your site with a golf cart and direct you until you are properly parked. We had an issue that arose while there through no fault of management and they could not have been more caring and attentive.
