After a quick drive around the island, we were leaving to stay at a nearby campground when we passed Lowkey Hideaway. My husband is entirely incapable of driving past a Tiki Bar without stopping, so we dropped in and we are SO glad we did. The nine RV spots are on a small strip of land on the side of the road, but we had no problem with traffic noise - Cedar Key is a quiet little town and I can’t imagine there are ever THAT many cars going by. The spaces are cozy and don’t have much privacy between you and your neighbor, but there are several huts/patios/swings/etc. along the water to hang out and enjoy the incredible sunsets. Full hookups available, but we didn’t use them so can’t say much there. They also have bathrooms and showers available. We had an absolute blast hanging out at the bar and chatting with the locals and the other travelers. Really amazing community. And really amazing mojitos. There is wifi at the bar/motel side, but we had enough service to stream a football game on our phone from the camper.

What it fails to show is the campground is jammed between a line of bushes on the bay side and a busy Florida highway 24 that runs directly perpendicular to all sites some 15 ft away without any barrier or bushes or screening. Hwy 24 is the only way in and out of Cedar Key! The bar and pier are quite unique and we had live music on Saturday night! I was glad I was in #8 which is about as far away from the bar as you can be!

Such a creative little spot. Like everyone mentioned-the tiki bar , backyard of the motel and the sunsets are the highlight. Cedar Key was a little too low key and kind of boring for us. It is a charming spot and so unique.

Great sites facing the bay. Full hook up with all sites. Owners are very cordial and helpful. Great little tiki bar on site. Lots of things to do in the area. Old school Florida
