Lots of very permanent sites. Travelers seem to get the cheap seats. Our site was awkward to enter and a little scruffy, but ended up pretty private. Not a looker but not too bad. Bath house was a little hike but large and had good showers. Good access to Lake George and Glens Falls.

We proceeded to pull through site A-18 with FHUs, which was near the entrance. We pulled around to a small cul-de-sac to get into the site. We had to maneuver several times to get lined up. The site was level but there was not much room to park the truck. Since we were at the entrance and this was a large campground, there was a lot of traffic going by our site. Our site was assigned at check in since this was our first time here. King Phillips was a large and well maintained CG. We received a good variety of cable channels, and two bars each on AT&T and Verizon. The CG was very busy during our three day stay over Columbus Day weekend. There were a lot of season campers and most were closing up their campers for the year. The park has quite a few amenities to include firewood and propane for sale plus an ATM machine. We were surprised there was not a dog area. There were really good hiking trails on the east side of Lake George on Buck Mountain or Inman Pond trails via Pilot Knob road. There are trail signs and pull offs. Lake George Dog Park near Lake George Recreation Area isn't too far away and if you want to skip the park, there is also a nice walking trail just inside the recreation area before you get to the dog park. We enjoyed our three nights stay to include all activities in the area.

Huge wooded site, convenient access to everything! Wish we could have stayed longer.

  • Too crowded for us, small sites, looked 'old'

The people were nice and we had no problems, but something just seemed awkward about it to us.The pool is very close to a main road, and is fenced in with little room to spare around it, not much room for people.Sites are very close together, and many appeared to be quite well lived-in by semi-permanent residents, and maybe not so well-maintained.We were put into a site that was barely large enough to fit our (quite large) pop up with slide, and we could barely fit our car in the site.
