Very close to town of Cody. Cons: No grass or trees. No shade. In fairness I believe they planned it this way for ease of upkeep. Only two washers/dryers. We used Cody laundromat. Very close to long haul power lines and substation! If you are looking for a resort style, this is not that. It is a great basecamp or overnight place. I’d love to give it a 5 star rating, but for this and a few other reasons I am not able to do so at this time.

We stayed here at the start of our Yellowstone Tetons trip prior to Memorial Day so most things in Cody hadn’t started yet (rodeo, etc) ….cost wise it was cheaper than the nearby KOA- so we chose to stay here. Amenities wise though it’s lacking for kids, laundry/showers and thankfully a fenced dog park. It’s new and nice, great flat spots, tidy appearance. Overall this would be a good one night stay or great for couples with no kids but I may have chose the KOA for our kids to have other things to do for the price and length we were in Cody. Hindsight’s 20/20.Note: when coming up the hill of Belfry Hywy, our map notified us to turn left into the driveway shortly AFTER the turn and we missed it. It was not a convenient turn around either down the road!

Our arrival email stated not to arrive before 3:00 PM and we were coming in from about an hour away so we called the office to see if early arrival would be permitted. Since we were arriving on a Monday, well into September, our site was empty and we were told to come on in, which was nice. Check in was super fast and we proceeded to pull through site 18 with FHUs. Utilities were placed in the middle of the site which was nice. Buffalo Bluff is a fairly new campground (CG) and we were impressed with its cleanliness. We received a good amount of OTA stations plus they had cable with decent channel selections. Since there are no trees within the park, satellite would not be a problem. There’s a small fenced dog-park and plenty of area to walk the dogs. We received 4 bars on Verizon. Lots of interesting places to explore in Cody, don’t miss the Buffalo Bill Center ($20 entry fee is good for 2 days) and Old Trail Town. Both provide a ton of history. We enjoyed our short stay and would consider staying here again.
