Great place to stay while in Fredericksburg Texas. Good site size under old bending oaks. Some road noise but quite after dark. We'll be back here for Octoberfest.

  • Convenient location to wineries/town, quiet and clean

The resort was clean and quiet, although there was some road noise (to be expected) but nothing that affected us. We picked this resort because of the location and other reviews stating how many trees there were vs just being another wide open RV park. Full disclosure, this resort is adults only so understand this before you book. One of the staff called us the morning of our arrival to check in. We arrived after 5pm but a staff member met us at the entrance to escort us to our site which was great, as it was dark. There was a welcome bag left on our picnic table with campground and area information. Site was mostly level and had a picnic bench. There was a divider fence between our site and the one next door. WiFi was adequate but a little slow. Only used the bathrooms/showers once but they were clean. Location was great and close to all of the wineries and to the town. The resort was previously a KOA but is no longer a KOA. The owners are making many updates to the facilities. I would definitely stay here again given it's location and country feel and I recommend it to others.

Not sure of the number of bad reviews on this place, I only had good things to say. Lots of farm animals my kids liked playing with. Clean spot, well maintained. Could it be better, yes. Not sure of the facilities since I'm not a fan of public facilities, esp in a pandemic.

We were called the day of our reservation to check in on our arrival, did a phone checkin and a bag at my site. The place is clean, spacious and well shaded. One of the better KOA’s I’ve stayed in. I was really nice and lots of animals around: goats, Longhorns and many cats on the property. The road next to it makes it you hear cars. Perhaps in the far end you could get away from that. Note the new campground will be for adults only.

  • Poorly ran, little regard for guest conveniences.

Staying in KOA’s across the US this spring, the only park that didn’t have access to bathrooms or showers was this one. Other sites are going up in Fredericksburg and I’d suggest using them.

With that being said, there are too many better options for RV parks in the area than to stay here again. Let me explain.1. The office is in such disrepair, no paint, missing logos and general maintenance (see pics)2. The entry gates are patched together mechanically and electronically taking a long time to open! (see pics)3. The landscaping from front to back has had no care given to the point of being non existent. (see pics)4. The kids playground is rock and weeds with equipment from the 60's (all steel) (see pics)5. Our site had no power when we arrived, finding the breakers were not even connected to the open wires.6. Water pressure was @ 20# at best and there was about 15% occupancy in the park.7. The site was relatively level, but the picnic table was in bad shape (see pics)8. The WiFi was very spotty, dropping the service many times & was very weak when it would connect. There were some good features, site trash service daily, trees were a welcome feature. With so many RV Parks in the area, the competition is light years ahead of this park and for the money, I will stay at another park.KOA needs to invest in it's parks to compete in today's camping market

This park has all of that, however, from the first phone call we felt a little less than welcome. We were told they usually require a minimum two-night stay but when we balked a bit the gentleman said we could probably just book one. It was like he was trying to fill the place up. We stayed Monday- Wednesday and there were plenty of empty sites. In fact, our site was second from the end of the row, next to a trailer in the end spot... with no one else in the remaining 6 spots! Why were we assigned a spot next to another camper when there were plenty of spots to park in?We like people but the spots were so close that I could smell cigarette smoke from inside our rig. Our dump was directly in front of their picnic table. We would have asked to move had we known that there were going to be plenty of empty spaces. I asked the same gentleman why they parked rigs so close together and he said he had no answer to my question. I don’t think this park staff is very customer focused. There are other parks in town so unless they are all full I’d go else where.

  • The Fredricksburg KOA is a very nice and clean campground.

We stayed there for 3 nights at the end of October 2018. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The park was quiet with a very nice dog park. We liked that it was so close to downtown. We would definitely stay there again.

Lisa the owner was so accommodating to us. She did find space for us, we just needed to move a few times which was perfectly ok with us. This KOA is geared for Adults as is Fredericksburg in general, but if you have kids that need a play area there is a Jellystone Park a few miles away. The 4 sites we stayed in were all really good, except for one which we needed to put some extra leveling blocks down to stop from rolling out of bed. They were aware and said that they will be fixed soon. The staff is always working, keeping the place in shape and it really showed. There are sites in the back across the bridge which were our favorite because they were close to the new bathrooms and a little away from the roads. The office has a few RV supplies and limited food, but there is a little shop right next to the KOA called Fresh Pickin's. They have a very nice selection of fresh food, and deli fixin's. The gas station shop next door has all the basics. WalMart is right down the road, and a H.E.B is in town. During our stay, the hosts had a band come in to play on the Stage they have on site one evening. All we had to do was bring our chairs. They have happy hour pot luck on Wednesdays and all guests are welcome. If there is one area they could improve it would be to put some fine gravel down for the sites and grate it every once in a while. The entrance to the park is right at the intersection, so just be careful here.
