Great KOA! Camped here twice. Close to Gettysburg and the National Military Park. Mostly completely shaded sites. Nice amenities. Weekend games for the kids. New playground. Nice pool. Well stocked store and very friendly staff. WIFI is very good. AT&T had fast data speeds.

With a variety of site sizes and types plus cabins there is something for everyone. Located just far enough out of town to give a country feel but close enough to be convenient. Cell service (Verizon) was a bit weak but the free WIFI was outstanding, even though we were in almost the furthest site from the office. The available cable offered the standard fare, about 20 channels, at $2.00 a night extra. The camp store was very well stocked, as was the gift shop. The staff was beyond reproach, from check in and being escorted to our site with assistance backing in to topping off the propane tank when we left. I rarely give 5 stars on everything, but this campground earned it.

We did not use any of the campground amenities but went into town several times and the 15 min drive into town was easy and convenient. We had 1-2 bars Verizon 4G/LTE. We were unable to work remotely. Could not stream video at any quality. Webpages loaded very slowly. The KOA Wifi worked, IF you could connect to it. The signal was strong everywhere on the campground, but doing high usage times, it would not allow you to connect. I was able to connect in the evening 8-10pm and successfully completed some work and was able to download several documents. It also worked very well in the early morning hours.

Helpful staff assisted with backing in and getting checked in. Our 3 yr old loved the playground and various activities around the campground. Nice, relatively quiet, woodsy atmosphere. The only negative was we were unable to get a fire started with the wood they offer for sale. Probably my fault, since I didn't bring a "starter log" and tried to do it the old-fashioned way by using kindling and tinder cut from the provided logs with my multi-tool. Only managed to make 2 partially charred pieces of not-burning wood.

I will say that we praised our choice over and over throughout the stay. It appeared that the other campgrounds we had driven by were very out in the open with little shade. We are "woodsy" and really prefer to camp in the wooded lots with lots of trees rather than out in the sun. This was the perfect campground for us. This particular KOA is small, not huge like many other ones. It was very quiet and everyone was incredibly friendly. We were close enough to town so that we didn't spend the whole day driving. Lots were roomy and easy to navigate in and out of. Bathrooms were very clean and a close walk no matter where you were. We didn't try out the breakfast but we have our 2nd trip booked so we will make sure to do so on this visit. I have nothing but good things to say about this KOA!

Upon your arrival you are greeted so you never have to get out of your vehicle. They take you straight to your site and assist you with parking your rig just right. You register when you are ready. We were in a premium, deluxe pull thru which had a hardscaped patio, patio furniture.and 2-person glider seat at the firepit. We have a 36 ft 5er. The campground was pretty full, but never feels crowded as the sites are nestled among the trees and are situated in the natural terrain. The roads and sites are all graveled. The tent sites and cabins are some of the best we have seen. Everything is clean and well-maintained. Being in a forested area, the climate stayed quite comfortable, even in the heat of August. Even when there was light rain, the canopy of trees caught it. The natural setting is really what we needed to de-stress. This KOA is close to all that Gettysburg has to offer.

We were in the water/electric section, and saw mostly other pop-ups, smaller RVs, and a few tents in our area. Our site was very spacious, beautifully landscaped and wooded, but right next to the road. There was a buffer of trees, but unfortunately that didn’t make much of a difference with regard to noise. I live adjacent to a busy local highway, and the noise was worse here at the CG, even though this road seemed like a smaller, rural road. There were vehicles loudly whizzing by at all hours of the day and night, which made it pretty hard to relax and enjoy nature, but since this was more of a “glamping” weekend vs a “real camping” weekend for us, I didn’t let it bother me too much. However, if we were to return, we would definitely avoid sites 65 through 69, as they all back up to that same road. Site 74 in the same section caught my eye as being very private, tucked away, and backing up to thick woods, so I would request that site in the future. The whole water/elec section was a bit further from the bath house than we usually like to be with little kids, but not a deal-breaker of a walk by any means.Bath house was decent. Showers were very nice and looked like they’d been updated recently, but the overall bathroom earned about a B- for cleanliness. It was kept reasonably tidy (other than the trash overflowing on one occasion), and the countertops stayed wiped off, but the whole bathroom (minus the showers) just seemed a bit old, drab, and didn’t smell great. I know it’s a bathroom, but this wasn’t a one-time smell; it persisted throughout all 4 days of our stay. What impressed me most about this CG was the landscaping and use of natural surroundings. There are tons of really nice boulders everywhere, bordering each site and most of the fire rings. The grounds are also very green and wooded, so it really does look and feel like a natural, rustic setting - much more so than any other KOA I’ve visited. You can tell the owners take pride in maintaining the grounds and natural elements. All of the roads and sites were paved(?) with really nice gravel, and you can tell they put a lot of effort into maintaining that, as well. Another highlight was the nature trail, which was a surprisingly challenging, rocky trail that leads up through the woods from one end of the CG to the other. It wasn’t like hiking Everest or anything, of course, but it definitely felt like a real, scenic hike for a family with little kids, and we felt like we had gotten our workout in afterward. Concerning the surrounding area, you’ll never lack for things to do in Gettysburg. Obviously, the national battlefield is a must-do. I’m not a history buff by any means, but I really enjoyed the auto tour, and was taken aback at how vast and beautiful the battlefield is, with varying scenery. The actual town of Gettysburg is very cute, crowded during peak season, and offers all sorts of dining options, entertainment, and historical attractions. Any service (gas, groceries, medical, shopping) you need can be easily found in the area. Overall, the was a very nice, well-maintained little CG and probably my favorite KOA I’ve visited to date. The expert use of landscaping to incorporate the natural, wooded setting really made a great impression on us. We wouldn’t hesitate to return for one of our “glamping” weekends!

We had a deluxe pull thru (#53) and I think it was the best site in the park; roomy, level, quiet with a nice fire ring. Bath houses seemed to be clean, though we didn't need to use them much. Cute little camp store and activities for our kids. Fairly easy back and forth to everything Gettysburg you'd want to see. KOA's seem to be on the pricey side these days, but it's worth it for consistency and nice campgrounds like this.
