The park is exactly right next to a train track, the worst part is there is a train the comes by every hour at night. I barely slept when I stayed there and I could not wait to check out the next day. Very expensive for what it offers. Will never stay here again!

Nicely laid out and well maintained park with good spacing between sites. Our site backed to a busy rail line on a street with a bunch of chain smokers. The office staff is great and helped us by extending our stay when we had to travel for a death in the family. Great location for exploring Portland and the Columbia River Gorge.

  • Nice and clean park, just close enough to Portland!

Very nice and clean park close enough to Portland to visit without being in the city. The office was busy but everyone there was very friendly. They even let us check out late which made our travel day a lot nicer! We didn't have time to use any of the amenities, but people were in the pool and it looked nice!

There are not a lot of choices, so they can get away with charging the amount they do. Our spot had cig butts and peanut shells all over, and was next to chain smoking permanent residents. Our expectations were pretty low, but given that it’s a thousand trails, thought it would be more family friendly. Oh and there are trains. We also had sheriffs deputy’s looking for a fugitive. Not a good look.

That often makes for some very interesting conversations with your neighbors. Our site, while concrete and level, was needing repair for broken edges. It didn’t effect our stay, but the park does need some work. There is plenty of room at each site to put the awning out and relax. Our site backed up to the railroad tracks, but we are beginning to wonder if there are any parks that aren’t set next to railroad tracks! The hot tub in our section of the park seemed never to be open, and the pool on the other side of the park was on the small side. The park served our needs well. You will need to drive to Portland or Vancouver, though public transit is available. It also is close to the west end of the Columbia River and the west side of the Gorge. Easily accessible for day trips. There are also regional parks within close distance either by walking or bike riding. Fort Vancouver and the Land Bridge are a short drive away to visit. It appears the RVontheGo is managing Thousand Trails reservations. At check in the staff expressed some frustration the system relating to site assignments. The system had us elsewhere than where the park staff assigned us.WiFi was reliable and fast.

She was nice enough to make sure we got a spot where cell signal and WiFi would be good due to work. The spaces are tight, I mean very tight. The rules state no aggressive breed dogs but the neighbor (permanently living there) had one. She went as far as telling my husband that the dog must be introduced or it’s aggressive. Unfortunately my husband was only trying to hook up the sewer hose. That’s how close everyone is. Lots of live in’s really close to the front with unsightly spaces. Laundry room is dirty, and people wash their dog stuff in the washers leaving dog hair behind. Was very close to all there is to do in or around Portland.

Arrival was super easy and no problem finding site. Location is great for exploring Portland area. Walmart and shopping close by. Staff were responsive, friendly and very helpful. There were some branches hitting my slide and they were out and had them trimmed within hours of me reporting it. Wifi strength was excellent and bandwidth was great for Netflix/Roku streaming as well as video conferencing. As others have posted, there is a lot of air traffic noise + street noise, but that will not deter me from staying here again due to the location and the fact the park is so well managed.

The railroad tracks go right past this park at the very back. I remember the incredible noise from before but didn't notice it much this time. Perhaps the trains have had to slow down past this area but I don't really know.At any rate, I would definitely come here again. We stayed here in our Airstream and used our Thousand Trails membership.

I couldn't figure it out when I first got here because it looks nice (though RVs are packed in like sardines), but after only a couple days and several interactions with staff, I completely understand the negative things said.I like to stay places for a month at a time and I find places with monthly rates. Before coming to Fairview Portland RV Park, I've never paid more than $550.Fairview advertises a monthly rate of $645 but it is a lie. Once you get here, you learn they add on $50 for water and trash. Then another $75 for electric. Then another $50 for taxes. Then another $30 because all monthly rentals require a background check. Then after a week when the background check was complete, I had to go back to the office to sign a 6 pages lease agreement. Took 15 minutes to complete it and I had to have proof of insurance. It was absolutely ridiculous fo a 30 day stay. I've never gone through anything like this or anything even close. And, yes, as others have said, the staff is completely rude during all interactions. The owner drives around on a golf cart all day looking for people and RVs that aren't inline with the rules. There are several levels to the campground (it has about 400 sites). The upper level is where those coming for just a few night are put. That's the nicest though as I understand from others there is a lot of theft (particularly bikes) on the upper level because how close it is to the street. Long term parking which is where I was assigned (and, it seems, most RVers live here--there are even a few tiny houses) is on the lower level. The lower level is right next to the train, under the Portland flight path and has a constant low-level sewage smell. Also the bottom level has terrible connectivity even with my hotspot and booster.Even though it was in the 70s ad 80s when I got here, they'd already closed the pools. The bathhouse and laundry room were cleaned regularly. And it is convenient to Portland.I can tolerate a lot, but the fact they they are so deceptive about the cost (and way overpriced) added to the rude staff makes me know I'll never stay here again.

They have the greenest RV Park grass I have seen in a long time and each site has a good amount of space: a parking pad for your TV, a single tree, a picnic table and the sites were long enough for coaches of all sizes. There is a pool but it closed the day we got there and the restrooms had plenty of stalls and showers. The area around the park is a little lacking but we made the best of it by walking down the road to the coffee shack at Celebrities, checked out Gresham which has a cute downtown area and of course paid a couple of visits to the MUST GO --> Mcmenamins Edgefield. Check it out, you'll thank us later. Multnomah and Bridal Veil falls are a short hop away and of course you are only a $30 Uber ride away from downtown Portland or a 20 min drive. Check out our website (https://trav.elish.net) if you want a guide for all the stuff we got up to while there and a nice map to accompany it :) For you full time workers out there... here are our stats:Digital nomad rating: 3Wifi rating: 4 - Public wifi available in rec room and sites (can only vouch for front sites - we were in 26). Speeds not consistent - ranged from >1 to 7 mbps DL and UL. Was strong enough to work from but dropped from time to time and definitely slowed in the evenings.Verizon data: 2 - Connection to tower strong (as evidenced by the signal strength below) but must be over flooded with users as the speeds really sucked. As in we couldn't work from it most days and had to use the just as iffy wifi. Speeds: DL ~2.4 mbps, UL: ~ 2.04 mbps. Sometimes less, sometimes a bit more.Workspace rating: 3 - There is a rec room but it is just that. If you had to work from here you could but it is small, dusty and not ideal for working (tables/chairs etc).Access to data rating: 3 - If you are looking for a cafe I would head into the city or to Gresham. Fairview is more of a Target type town, not much in the ways of local owned coffee shops to spend your days at.

For the past 10 years, this used to be our favorite park where we liked to stay when we come to Portland to visit our grandchildren. But no more! We made reservations for a pull-through site with wi-fi. The site they tried to put us in, #76, is so steep that it was impossible to level our 30 ft. motor home. So they dumped us in a back-in site far, far away that not only had no wi-fi, but is a “dead spot” so my “Verizon Ellipsis” could not access the internet! If I wanted to use my OWN wi-fi, I had to drive up to the clubhouse to send or receive emails or use the internet. The excuse was that Thousand Trail’s computer in Florida assigns the sites. I tried and tried to call Thousand Trails and was put on hold and couldn’t get through. When I went to the office to ask to be moved to another site, they said all those desirable empty sites were reserved. When I asked how we could reserve one, they never gave me a straight answer. Otherwise, it used to be a great park before Thousand Trails took over and ruined it. Sadly, it is unlikely that we will ever go there again. We had some trouble in the past with them trying to put us in bad sites, but this was the worst.

This also causes some traffic noise, but we did not find it too loud at night. We got a nice pull through spot with full hookups and we were walking to the pool and clubhouse area. The staff seemed to take good care of the park with sprinklers at each site for the grass, and constantly driving around to keep and eye on things. Quite a few annual people here and we did find that a few sites were a bit overloaded with stuff - but overall very well kept.Free wifi here was actually some of the best we have encountered on the road - a surprise! The host found a spot that is reserved to a monthly renter but they wouldn’t arrive for a few weeks. It was a backin spot but after some maneuvering we got in. Sites are level, good utilities, nice grass, lots of shade but if you need satellite it’s hard to get. WiFi is good and they include cable. The park is immaculate. Now the negative. Husband was using laundry and when he went back for dryers he realized the washer didn’t spin dry the clothes. Went across to office and she rudely told him they aren’t responsible for them and to call a number to have a repairmen come out and he did that day. Also aren’t responsible for the credit card machine that wasn’t working. Office will not refund money you lose but gave a number to request two $2 refunds. Office knew there was a problem with machines but didn’t feel the need to put up a sign or call for repair...it’s not their job. The spot we squeezes into didn’t leave us much room for truck. We asked a maintenance man if we could park alongside trash dumpsters in a parking area. He said we could but to put our site number in the window. A few hours later the manager knocks on the door while my husband was on an important phone call and told my husband to hang up he had something important to say and we had to move truck. My husband told him what worker said but it didn’t matter. There have been other vehicles parked in that spot the whole time but made us move. Spoke with people who live here as well as were here for a short time and all told us about rude workers. A shame because it’s a nice place. Under flight path for airlines but didn’t bother us. Also near main road and train but that didn’t bother us. Most parks have trains and/or road noise.

If you have a 40' rig, with vehicle in tow, plan to unhook at the registration station. While making the turn onto our designated street, we had to ask the occupant of the first site to bring in their awning so we could make the turn while barely missing the truck parked across from them. When we pulled into our pull thru site, the car was still in the street. Yes, there was a nice parking pad right next to our site but, again, the whole idea of picking this park was so we would not have to unhook our tow. It would have been nice if the staff had suggested we unhook before proceeding into the park.

We booked it to be able to be close to Portland and use the pool. We have a 15 month old and were looking forward to taking him swimming. We were in the pool for 10 minutes before the manager came out and yelled at me that children who are not potty trained are not allowed in the pool. I informed her that he had swim pants on, but she said it did not matter. It was so embarrassing to be kicked out of the pool area in front of all the other guests. Although I do think this rule is unreasonable, and not family friendly, the way it was enforced is what I have the biggest issue with. We told them when we booked we have a toddler in our party, I think we should have been informed then of the rule, and then we could decide if we wanted to pay the $60 per night rate or not. The park was clean, although the pool area and club room were both small and dated. The laundry room was nice, with several washers and dryers and you could use your credit card instead of quarters for the machines which I liked. The wifi was also good, although we were in the front, so I'm not sure about any where else in the park. This is a large RV park and we did enjoy riding our bikes around it. It was also close to Portland. We would not choose to stay here again simply because of the lack of customer service.

A good spot to base and tour the area. Strict on rules which is fine but we were question twice within the first week about infractions that were actually being done by others and not us. For example a knock on the door to ask if the dog poop close to our site was ours,,, we don't even travel with a dog!! We have stayed here about 4 times while visiting family when in the area and probably will again but only because it's about the best park in the area. We are in a 42' motorhome
