The site we stayed in was not very level so be sure to bring your legos to assist in leveling. The park is older but is run very well. There is a large selection of sites including pull-thru, back-in, tents, and cabins. Our site had cable hookup for tv. We did not have much luck with the WiFi, however. There is also a nice pool and a great gift shop which we used to pick up a few supplies and ice cream ????. There is a train that runs along the back of the campground which can be loud if your site is close by. The train noise did not bother us in the center of the park where we were. All in all, a nice Oregon park off interstate 84 by the Columbia Gorge. If you have kids they will have a ball.

Nice to stay if you don’t mind the sound of trains and cars at night. WiFi is super bad.

Quiet and pleasant until the 'weekend warriors' rolled in. Excessive dog barking, kids running through sites, everyone's rig lit up...and the trains. (We don't mind trains too much but you should be aware the track runs right behind the campground.) Laundry was large and clean. Cable TV was great but wi-fi was pretty much worthless. AT&T was poor but glad we had redundancy with Verizon at 4 bars. Might stay again some day but in the off season.

Didn't realize we were so close to the tracks, and these are busy tracks with trains coming by multiple times per day/night. I didn't notice them much and wife didn't hear them at all once we were asleep... but I would avoid the back rows if possible, as they are closest to the tracks... it appears to me, they fill the campground from furthest to closest first anyways as that end had hardly anyone.Running the AC Fan all night helps, can't hear the trains from our spot.Real campfire spots is nice. We stayed the night, and moved on... does show having a pool and hot tub. Everything was closed when we were here due to COVID-19.Cable was currently out (listed on their info sheet at checkin)Wi-Fi didn't work... I was able to connect, but couldn't get any where once connected..

Most people seem to be gone all day sightseeing so it’s very quiet even though they were booked up. Trail down to the river covered with blackberries that I plan to pick and make cobbler. Very nice attentive staff. Kevin told us over the phone that we would fit into the 110 foot pull through but when we arrived I had my doubts. Kevin offered to move some big rocks but it was unnecessary and we fit fine. Pretty rare for us and this 75 foot Toter Home and race trailer. Walked to the town of Cascade Locks for dinner. Cute town and a good dinner at the Locks Grill watching the Steamship Paddlewheeler leave. Will try a couple more restaurants before we leave. Nice pool and spa and clean laundry room. Have not used the bathrooms. Cute typical KOA store with the necessities and a bunch of stuff you don’t need! Would love to come back soon. Decent wi-fi too. Also, I love trains so no issues with the noise. Beats our usual TruckStop overnight. It’s all what you’re used too!

This KOA is actually more like "real" camping-as in more rustic, not a lot of people all over, and laid back. It's convenient to Portland AND Mt Hood and the Columbia Gorge and that, along with waiting too long to make reservations, is why we came here. In the end, although I have to say we would not return, it is only because of the train noise that we wouldn't. The staff is excellent and the other visitors that we met were very nice. But those TRAINS!!!Access: Our Garmin had us heading a bit east of where the sign pointing to the campground was and as soon as we determined that it was kooky we turned around. The turn off Wa Na Pah St is onto Forest Rd NOT Hammond so it's only about 1.5 miles from the turn off from I-84. Very convenient! The sites, while not too private are large and there is plenty of room to sit without being right next to your neighbor. The sites are level and clean. A mixture of dirt and gravel they are watered down when yo leave so the dust was well controlled. The regs say no mats or rugs but virtually everyone had one and there was no problem. (I suspect this is in recognition that the area is somewhat dry. ) The sites, most of them, are nicely shaded and the day the temperature hit 98 we stayed relatively cool and comfortable until mid afternoon when we had the a/c on for a few hours. They have 30 A/water pull-thrus and back in as well as 50A (for $10 more) According to one neighbor they told her the noise from the trains was less in the more expensive sites but when I was in the showers, with 2 others running I not only heard but felt the train go by so unless you are running a/c with all windows closed I can't see it making that much of a difference. Noise: This was the only really bad part of this experience. We understand that there is train noise next to the river whether in WA or OR but some of the trains literally shake the earth. In addition, they run all day and all night and some of the operators seem to lie on their horns coming through no matter what hour it is. The campground is quiet both day and night between trains unless your site is near the pool, in which case you hear people in the pool during the day but it's not bad.Bathrooms and showers: are clean, the water in the showers stays hot all day but the shower heads are only about 5.5' off the ground so very hard for anyone with any height. The water pressure is OK but the stall is large with hooks and a bench and a nice floor that filters away the water.Cell reception and WiFi: there is free WiFi but, as with most campgrounds that we have found, it fluctuates. Never fast, it is sufficient most of the time. We had both ATT and Verizon signals though-2 bars-so switched back and forth. There is lots to do near here both east and west and the famous waterfalls, like Multnomah Falls, are all very nearby. Town is right down the road with several restaurants (we tried and liked the Ale House) and small grocery stores.Pets are very welcome as long as on a leash and there is a dog run. The garbage and recycling bins were full to overflowing when we arrived on Mon but everything was picked up on Wed.Overall, I have to say that had we been in a 50A site where we could have run our A/C at night and kept the windows shut we might consider it again except for the $47/night price tag that would involve.
