Meticulously clean bathrooms, propane grill to use on site, & nice camp store. But, most of all super friendly staff that gave us pointers on the local site to explore.Off the beaten path but worth the drive. Scenery is beautiful with ample options for hiking.

  • Not safe, sites not level at all. Not maintaining Covid precautions.

That being said the sites are unlevel. It is like playing Tetris with leveling. When we pulled in we were escorted to our site and told to register after setting up. It took forever trying to get level( 1 hr, 30 year history of parking RV and camping, we know how). We had just finished, when they sent a staff member telling us to come register now. It was 3pm, they close at 6pm. WE were met by an older lady to check us in. She had her mask hanging off her ear. We had our masks on. I mentioned hand sanitizer x2 to remind her to put her mask on. She did not and gave me what I thought as evil eye. She kept reading us the rules. She repeated how they served food. I looked over at the food area. The only person working there did not have a mask, gloves or hair net on. The hair net and gloves were pre-covid. None of the staff had masks. They need to spend money leveling the sites. Some of the RVs were up on blocks like Jenga. We paid extra for a patio site and it was more of a trip hazard. To leave we are going to have back our truck up hill in stone to hook up. We are parked on a hill. This seems to be a pattern at KOA. They are putting more money on looks vs function. We will never come back or pay the bill bucks for a bad site. The road coming in was awful. It is a one lane long stone road, uphill with huge pot holes and bumps. There is no way 2 cars could pass each other much less RVS. We have a truck and fifth-wheel which was awful. I can't image what would happen to a class A. Opps we did hear one dragging its bottom up and down the road. They say they are big rig friendly. This is not!

Pretty much just like home. If you have AT and T cell phones, you will have no service but can text others that have iphones. Our site was level. It is very hilly and the ascent into the campground is via a very bumpy road. There is a well maintained pool which is open via sign up slots during this pandemic. The picnic tables are newer and well maintained.

Our site was okay but the fire ring was on an area that was quite sloped and it was challenging to find a spot to put our chairs. Our site had 30 amp service and water. It was gravel that was well maintained and level. There were some sites that were less sloped that we would choose next time, if we return. Location was great for hiking and seeing the sights.

Sites had decent space between them. They had some sites that were concrete and had a concrete patio with a grill and furniture. Very nice. Family oriented. Pool, gem mining, playground, RC car racetrack. there was an off leash area for dogs. The office staff was very nice. They had pizzas and a few other things they would cook and deliver. We did try the pizza one nite it was good. Laundry had 4 washers and 5 dryers. All at 2.50. 40 minutes on the small dryers. 20 on the big one. WiFi worked well at our site which was good cause Verizon didn’t. Had to go into town to get Verizon service. The road in was very rough. And I’m glad we didn’t meet another motorhome coming in or going out cause someone would have had to backup. Hocking Hills State Park is great. We did 4 different trails (short ones). All that said, why only 4 stars? I don’t give 5 stars easily and this time it’s simply value. I think 71/nite is pricey and 2.50 for a residential size washer/dryer is too high.

The staff were friendly and professional, the sites were clean, and there were a wide variety of sites to choose from. From private primitive tent sites tucked back in the woods to large RV sites with water/sewer/electric/cable hookups. They had it all. We have a 29' Fifth Wheel and got a pull-through site. Our site included a fire ring and a picnic table, along with all the hook ups. The night we arrived we were too tired to cook so ordered a pizza from the front office and they delivered it to our site! What?? Is this camping?? They also deliver wood to you. They escort you directly to your site so you don't get lost trying to find it or go down a one-way road the wrong way. There was a nice little pool, but it wasn't open for the season yet. The shower houses were immaculate. This campground was also located close (within a few miles) to all the main hiking trails,, and about 12 miles from the town of Logan where there are nice restaurants and other attractions (Hocking Hills Winery, Hocking Hills Moonshine, The Old Dutch Restaurant, M&M Family Diner, to name a few.Cons: Little to no cell phone/GPS coverage (not their fault). make sure you have a printed map. The driveway going up is extremely bumpy, it was intimidating for newbies pulling a 5th wheel! Just take it slow.

The entry road into the campground is a little steep and getting into some of the site can be a challenge for longer RV's. Also the water has a ton of rust, so be sure to have a very good water filter or everything will turn orange. This was a nice campground. I liked it better than the state park at Hocking Hills that I stayed at previously. Will stay here again. The sites varied in size, some tight together other fairly spacious. Not a bad location from the caves and natural attractions. Very friendly staff. Pleasant surroundings.
