This was our first time camping in our trailer outside of our driveway. I want to like this place, but it still needs some work. In speaking with the management it sounds like COVID in 2020 hurt their ability to open at 100% quality. Our site was not yet fully complete - no grass. The site was paved, albeit narrowly. NOT even site. Unfortunately a few days prior to our trip there was a large rainstorm. Then it rained the first two nights we were there. All those factors combined to make a seriously muddy Memorial Day weekend. It was also cold all weekend and we were not able to use a fire ring due to mud. Even when it warmed up a bit we could not sit under our awning due to mud. We left a day early because of weather preventing us from enjoying anything. But this was not really anything to do with the campground. Additionally the COVID floodgates had opened and every local scenic site was JAMMED with people. Old Man's Cave had no parking, people were parking across the street and walking. Management brought us a wood plank so we could at least get out of our camper and to our vehicle. I was very thankful for that. They also had hay/straw trucked in for people to spread on their sites, that was also very good.If we had had a good grass site we would have been happier. Or maybe paid more for the "deluxe" sites which have a nice concrete pad with beautiful wood rocking chair and table/chairs. But we just got our camper in April and at that time the campground was full except for our site! There is a building with 3 video games - Buck Hunter, Ms. Pac Man/Galaga, and I forget the 3rd one. Our wifi worked good, as we were close to the admin office. We attempted to use a the showers at one point, but there was no hot water!I would certainly come back, just at a different site number!! And maybe after a year or so, so they have time to work out the kinks. Also, this place really is on top of a hill, no joke. If your rig struggles on steep inclines you might have issues.

  • A little rough around the edges.

This campground has a lot of potential however, you can tell they are still getting up and moving. I’m sure once they get all the kinks out it’ll be a wonderful place. Looks like they are building a huge store/ rec center? They have many options to stay in, cabins, yurts, a covered wagon, and teepees. The property was recently blacktopped so, we were upgraded to a full hookup patio spot. Got there and someone was in our spot (21) so we were told to go to 19. The site needed work. The blacktop and patio section ( nice fire ring and furniture) do not meet up so you had to walk through about 4 feet of sand and with small kids and a dog was not fun. We did discover our puppy likes to dig. Very level sites. Definitely bring an extended sewer line as ours wasn’t long enough. So, we had to back up and wasn’t even close to the patio. Pulling in we could tell the blacktop wasn’t poured correctly for a one way. You want it at more of an angle than these are to get your rig into the site without going too far into the grass ( or in this case the dirt/mud). Pulling out was just as bad, right into the mud ( I’m talking about 6 feet off the road) we went to make the turn. They are going to have many issues of people going too far into the grass and ruining it if this is not fixed. Our first night we tried to use the shower house. Wasn’t working. Toilet, sink worked but not the shower. Also, there wouldn’t have been any hot water if the shower did work as there was none at the sink. There were only two other rvs there and we were right next to each other as a maintenance man stated they were having water issues at other sites. I think this was still considered their off season. Honestly, it’s way overpriced for what they have to offer and they state in their email that guests must pay $3-5 to access the amenities. There are none yet. Even mentioned a dog park. Never did find it. They definitely need to add on their website that they are still under construction as we had no clue until we pulled in. It has potential just not worth the price yet and don’t say you offer all these amenities when it’s not even build yet. SMH.
