He used to stay here before buying 7 years ago and wants to grow the property. While we were here I got to chat with him about the new tent sites he is building and the improvements he is making. For big rigs he is widening the roads to make it even easier to move about. I had no issue with my 40ft Super C. He had a spot for me to drop my 24ft trailer and even helped me navigate. Our site had a sight slope to it but nothing that kept us from getting level with some blocks. We will be back to stay again.

We will definitely stay here again. Camp hosts and owner are very friendly. We really enjoyed the skillet cheese biscuits and sausage the owner brought to our door on Sunday morning.

We loved staying here. So peaceful and beautiful. The camp hosts and owner could not have been nicer and the homemade breakfast delivered to your door Sunday morning is amazing. It is close enough to go visit all the places you want to see but nice to come back to the peace. We would stay here again.

We fell asleep to and woke up to the sounds of nature. The next day, we were invited to buy tickets to a BBQ chicken dinner to support the local firehouse. The Corbetts - the park owners - delivered the dinners to us. The Sunday morning we left, the Corbetts sent us off with a hearty breakfast of cheese biscuits and large sausages, delivered to our door. Who does this anymore in todays world? Turkey Quarter does.We spent three nights at Turkey Quarter in Cove City, NC - after boondocking for near two weeks on the Carolina coast. Our site backed up to vacant land, was level, spacious, FHU - all for $35/night. We were greeted, taken to our site and given parking assist. The sites are well-placed, tucked into the woods, good privacy all around. The hosts - Ashley and Andy are genuinely nice. The landscaping is beautiful. Yard flags provide a welcoming and serene feel to Turkey Quarter. This is a place to relax, slow down, and be thankful. There are rules - i.e., permanent residents have to keep their sites tidy and alcohol outside must be in a cup or a cozy. Both I support. Yes, it is in the country - but only 20 minutes from New Bern and about an hour from the coast. We passed two other campgrounds on our drive in - and Turkey Quarter is not that much further. Call ahead and get driving directions from Mr. Corbett if you drive a big rig as he knows the local roads better than GPS. The gravel road leading into the campground is single lane but fine at slow speed. We hope to return on another trip east.

I finally got to spend some time at Turkey quarter. I’ve heard rave reviews about how peaceful, quiet and friendly it is. It’s all true! I spent some time with the owner talking and he even made cheese skillet biscuits. You’re family after that at TQCan’t wait to get back.

This is a pleasant quiet place to stay, the owner and hosts are very friendly and helpful. We have stayed here twice and will return soon. The grounds are well maintained and most sites are easy to get into. Site 11 has a 50 amp outlet so if you only need 30 amps bring an adapter.

Great little campground! Owner and host are very nice and look out for you. Firewood is provided which you rarely see at a campground. No WiFi because they are out in the country. Nice place to get away.

Very clean and kept up. The site we were in was a large pull through, with a nice plastic picnic table. We had full hookups, that worked great. We did 8 loads of laundry, as we had been camping without water and sewer for 2 weeks. We had a great view of the little pond, and a rose garden right beside us. Now for the sad part... Since the hurricanes, they have had terrible internet service in the area. Even with boosters and antenna, we couldn't upload or download, and my husband works full time from our RV. This just wouldn't work for us. We were so bummed. The owners, James and Debra were so kind and helpful. They totally understood our predicament, and were going to let us leave with paying only one night of our 8 day reservation. We said we wouldn't do that as we had done so much laundry, and came to an agreement that was fair to everyone. That evening we got a knock on the door, it was James, he wanted to tell us he was going to bring us breakfast in the morning. He did, and it was wonderful. Cheese biscuits and a delicious big link of sausage. If you want a place to just go and relax, throw a line in the pond and visit with lovely people, this is your place. They are very strict on no drinking or partying. "This is a family place." We hated to leave, but we had no choice.

  • Great campground with service like no other!

This campground is a bit off the beaten path down some country roads and past a small neighborhood of trailer homes. You go over a few speed bumps in the gravel road approaching it. When I pulled up, I was met by James Corbett the owner who gave me a choice of the first two sites on the left. We opted for site 2, which is the first one, mostly level and facing the small pond at the entrance. The sites are all crushed gravel, hard packed, mostly level and the hookups we're fairly modern. We really enjoyed our stay, the campground is nice and quiet. The bath house showers and bath rooms were all very clean and have a washer and dryer as well. Firewood is provided at the campsites! We used this camp as a basecamp to visit the Tryon Palace in New Bern (20 min) and Fort Macon State Park at the beach (1 hr). On Sunday morning, James brought some breakfast over ( some cheesy biscuits and sausage). He told us to take our time, no rush leaving. Check out is 1, but he said we could stay longer. He came back by later to talk with us some more and sent us home with an ice cold watermelon too! This campground doesn't have a lot of extra amenities, but it is cheap at $35 a night for full hook ups, there are some nice shady sites towards the back too. James was as nice as could be, great host / owner, went the extra mile to make sure we were enjoying our stay. I will give fair warning however, he is a talker.

  • A very restful stay.

Very quiet, very well maintained. Shaded, well separated sites. The folks here go the extra mile. Wood for fire pit provided. Hook-ups functioned well.

  • This beautiful little campground is an excellent base to explore the area.

Full hookups (50amp, water, sewer). Stayed in site 3.We were scrambling a bit after being evacuated from a North Carolina state park because of the coronavirus closures. But we're almost glad we left because this place was nicer.Very quiet. We only had a couple neighbors in the whole campground and rarely saw them. We spent time out by the fire. We went fishing. Great place to relax and get caught up on work. When we arrived there wasn't an office or any formal way to checkin, but the owner had told us on the phone to park in spot 3 and then the camp host came by in his golf cart later that evening to collect payment and have us sign a paper. They provide free firewood (super nice touch!) and restocked the next morning after we burned up several logs.Verizon service was a little slow but doable for streaming. AT&T was good.
