Back then, the bath house was very old and worn and was not functioning properly. We saw that the bath house had been renovated, so we thought we would give it another try. I guess painting the outside a new color counts as renovated but there was nothing new or clean about the inside. Most of the sites are also not level and not easy to get into (they are kind of random and irregular configurations). But the worst part was when we were getting ready to leave and availed ourselves of the septic hookup that we paid for as part of our "full hookup" price for site A8. As soon as we opened the valve on the black tank, it started overflowing at the ground inlet. Disgusting! The maintenance man that happened to be near by had us move to A18 to dump, which worked but it was a hassle to move everything and then clean it all. Before leaving, I went to the office to tell them that they couldn't sell A8 as a full hookup site because the dump tank wasn't functional. Do you think I would have gotten an apology or refund offer (one might think that would be appropriate)? Definitely not. Instead, she was dismissive and didn't sound surprised or concerned. The only thing she offered was an insincere "thanks for letting me know" and that was it. We will never go back there again and I would recommend you find a different campground in the area.

Our site was essentially a gravel parking lot very difficult back in due to angle. This was our last stop of a 30 day trip to Maine 8other campgrounds and this was the worst. Once we finally were parked the site had no power so we walked over in the wind and rain to let someone know and then 10 more minutes till staff came. 1st staff could not fix then another 45 minutes to get power. I would have gone to another campground if I could get a signal on my Verizon. Once we had power WIFI/cell signal allowed no access to our TV not optimal on a rainy cold day. Campground is fairly close to Boone but if you haven’t been before or in a while expect lots of traffic and limited parking. Even walking the dog around was not enjoyable something we usually enjoy.

Then, once we were set up, we plugged in and found out that the electricity at the site did not work. They were apologetic and gave us a list of alternate sites, so we chose B18 because it looked the most level of the offerings. Unfortunately, the water leaked at the faucet handle, but we stayed because the slop of the site limited how much mud we would have to deal with. I did not think the women's bathrooms were too bad, but my husband said the men's side was dirty and in poor repair. The bathroom lavatories had only cold water. The people were nice, but things looked like they were not being properly maintained. The location was great for our purposes, though, and it wasn't too bad for the price. Very swervy and steep roads coming in from some directions.

We are just getting into camping so we are currently using a tent in hopes to move up to a van conversation or travel trailer. A RV or Travel Trailer would fit fine on this spot. We randomly choose C16 and got lucky as it was right on the stream and close to the bath house by taking the well lit bridge over. Our cell service (ATT & T-Mobile) workEd great! We wanted to stay another night but the spot was reserved and didn’t want to move our stuff to another spot. Will go here again soon!

Responsive staff with contactless check in services. Our site was level, surrounded by beautiful lush trees and had a lovely creek running behind it. It rained while we were there so we didn’t explore too much but enjoyed the greenery and close proximity to Boone. Will definitely stay there again! We have a 25ft trailer and it was easy to get into our spot. There were a few larger rigs near us, as well. We were in the C loop and would recommend sites C1-C8 if you’d like to camp along the creek. My husband drove through the rest of the campground before we left and thinks the A and B loop have some spots that may be challenging to get into.
