What a great little gem of a KOA, easy access, level sites and most of all some of the best staff we have encountered. We love the dinner and the breakfast. Highly recommended!

A continental breakfast was included. We arrived during the Albuquerque Baloon Festival so the campground was packed. Lot sizes were adequate and access was easy. The only negative was the train coming through town during the night. However, we quickly grew accustomed to it and was not a problem. A dinner service delivered to your camper was offered. We did not try it as we tend to be out during that time. Overall I would highly recommend. The Ice Cave and Volcano attraction is just down the road and we’ll worth seeing.

New bathrooms, individual showers and plenty of hot water. The BIG DIFFERENCE here were the people in the office and the delivered to your site dinners! The folks that run this place are awesome, friendly and helpful, and the food is really amazing. Try the turkey dinner or the barbecue… oh, and PIE with ice cream on the side. Stay here if you’re in the neighborhood!

Entering the single outside door, one enters a corridor with four doors to choose from. The two closest to right and left have a sink and toilet. The two further in on the left have a toilet, sink, and shower. All else remains as noted by other reviewers... dinner service if you arrive early enough, continental breakfast from 7-9, good pet areas (would be better if some grass were present), wi-fi typical of campground wi-fi, etc. It is convenient to the interstate while being far enough away to make it unnoticeable.

Stayed here overnight on our way to and from the Grand Canyon. Easy on and off the interstate. Nice walking trail and dog area. Campground is in the lava fields so very unique landscape. Owners seem to be reinvesting and making it even nicer.

The facilities for showers and toilets are new and well kept. They offer free continental breakfast and a great selection of snacks to buy. They have WiFi but it’s typical park internet and awful, sorry just being honest. They have cable and full hook ups. The sites are a little tight. We enjoyed and will come back.

It was very nicely done and a continental breakfast but we didn’t partake in it.

We like KOAs for long driving days because you always know what to expect—level sites, hookups, friendly employees. This one had the added bonus of a .25 mile walking trail though an old lava flow right off the parking lot—this made getting some steps in for me and our dog easy and safe!

Our little 24 ft trailer barley fit and my husband hD to move the picnic table. It was disappointing to see open spots the next morning which would have provided a more comfortable stay. Next time we will request a more spacious spot. It was also a bit muddy and would benefit from more gravel.

It was a welcome treat at the end of a full day of driving. There was also coffee and a continental breakfast served in the registration building in the morning. Since we have bathroom facilities in our RV, we did not use the bathhouse.

But what really is the gem is the beautiful scene behind it and a nature walking trail. Beautiful lava rock and even really helpful signs with information about the landscape. WiFi is fine for working/email, but streaming was really slow with lots of buffering. Great for a one night stay with restaurants and a Walmart near by. It’s off the highway so much better than the other RV park option near by.

Friendly & helpful office staff. Clean site and quiet. Heard the train but not bad. Nice camp setting. They have complementary breakfast at the office. They also have dinner service to your RV if in park by 6:45 pm. We would definitely stay again. Great pet areas too. Didn’t use bathhouse.

Because of COVID-19 we have not made use of any of the common areas. The campground is surrounded by lava formations. The views of the dramatic New Mexico landscape are awesome. All of the RV sites are pull-through with easy access. We are on a cross trip taking my Daughter to college and we are staying here during the week so that I can work. The cellular service is good here, I'm getting 18Mbit/s on downloads which makes working remotely feasible for me.The BNSF mainline runs through Grants, NM and trains run frequently. I enjoy the train sounds, but it does increase the noise level. There is plenty of wildlife in the area, rabbits on the lava trail, a wide variety of birds, horse roam the property next door, as well a friendly Tarantula.

We stayed one night at this KOA. The lava trail was beautiful (we've stayed here before). It's lovely in the early morning or twilight. But the bathhouse is really very old, yet clean. The stalls are too small, and the shower stall I was in had a hole in the wall. We'd stay again for the scenery, and I guess deal with the bathhouse.
