Just the basics for $12. Several sites power didn’t work. Noise of the highway and train didnt bother us. Looks to have a few long term but the one we met was very helpful and friendly. There are no bathrooms here. Dairy Queen on site is substantially higher than other places. Store employees are very kind.

  • Great for overnight stop

This is the middle of nowhere, just off of I-10, and near Bowlin's Butterfield Station, which is a gas station, gift shop, and Dairy Queen restaurant. Stop in to register and pay the $12 fee and go find a spot. There are thee casita style buildings located west of the station. The first two have water electric and sewer. The last casita is dry camping with no hookups. This is wide open desert and there is some traffic noise and train noise, but far enough away to not be bothersome. Nothing fancy and somewhat neglegted, but full hook-ups for $12 is great for overnight.
