No river access and I was a bit worried about the drop with little kids but they did great. We saw deer in the campground and the night sky was beautiful (even saw neowise)! Staff was friendly and kind. There is a super bumpy speed bump going down the hill so take it slow going down. Just booked another stay there and we are excited to return. Its so close to the north entrance and we were able to drive Lamar Valley at dusk several times - incredible!! https://youtu.be/s7sJ0WRwtIs

Spaced decently apart, but not far enough to escape the cigarette smell from the rig next to us. We were greeted by elk at our campsite during two days of our stay! Right off the main road, but no road noise. WiFi was actually a good speed in the morning and late evening. It got bogged down mid-day and early evening. Overall, this was a great base camp for our time around the small upper loop and Lamar Valley.

  • Clean, yet extremely buggy

The bathrooms were clean and the grounds well kept. There are two negatives.1. The bugs on were awful. Like unbearable. They are these mayfly looking things. They don't bite, but they swarm in the hundreds. We were constantly having to keep the door shut and go in/out of the camper as fast as we could and even with that I killed at least 100 of them inside the camper. They ruined the camping experience for us. I will not stay here again and deal with these bugs. Wind was no match for them nor were citronella candles. 2. They tell you upon check to not have your camping mat out because they water/cut the grass daily. I was there 3 days and they never once watered the grass. I saw them watering grass in the morning when people would checkout, which is great. But watering while someone is there!? Don't do it and don't tell people you're going to do it and create another pain of having to not use a camping mat.On a positive there are wild elk that frequent the park and that was cool to see. The Yellowstone river behind the park is a nice view as well. However, you can't be outside much because of the mayflys.Excellent Verizon cell coverage.

Nice small campground righ by a small river. Clean too. It’s a shame they don’t allow campfires... it would be a perfect site for it.Lots are small but adequate.I would stay here again.Just make sure you have a water regulator as they tell you the pressure is very high in this campground!

It's the beginning of May, which means half of Yellowstone is snowed in and not all of the campgrounds are open, and roads are still closed. Only 2 campgrounds within Yellowstone were open. We went to Mammoth campground, a first come first serve place, they didn't have an opening. So we had to find a place outside the north entrance. That's when we happened upon this beautiful place situated right above Yellowstone River with mountains surrounding it. We were thankful! It's a nice quiet, scenic RV park. We would stay here again with our 2 kids and 2 dogs. $40 with AAA membership, $48 with Goodsams. No extra charge for kids or furry kids.

The lure here is that it's right outside the gate to Yellowstone. Still, there are other alternatives in this town, and next time we will try one.We are a family of four traveling in a 33-foot motorhome. Here's what we're looking for: A playground, stuff for the kids to do, somewhere to ride my mountain bike, beautiful scenery, fire rings, plenty of separation between us and neighbors, shaded and private sites, easy to get in and get level, electric hookups, water and dump station on site, clean showers, and not terribly expensive.Of that list, here's what we got: Easy to get in, full hookups, and clean showers. We also appreciated having laundry, decent wifi, and the camp host was nice. Everyone at the park was holed up inside their rig, which seems strange given the surrounding beauty, but it's understandable because there's just nothing comfortable here other than your rig itself.
