Rustic little park but good base for Voyageur's NP. Interior dirt roads, as everyone else notes, are tough with 40 footer, let alone with your toad still attached. Thick tree cover prohibits satellite reception. The stretch of Hwy. 53 at the front driveway was currently closed to traffic, under construction. Back entry off 1st Av. was the only way in. FHU's worked nice on gravel site. I would attach numerous photos except Campendium's system for attaching photos is messed up for tech-challenged folks like me.

Tight spots, but better (IMO) than paying 3x as much to stay 20 minutes closer.

Enjoyed stay; friendly staff. Clean level sites. Lots of big trees. Somewhat noisy due to road work near by but soon in & out will be great when road improvements complete. Rode bikes to downtown. Had great Italian meal at Sammy’s. Visited Voyeurs NP at Rainy Lake.

Nice spot. Sites fairly close. We had site 4. Near the entrance, shower and toilets. Nice trees. Close to highway but quiet.

  • Just what we needed and close to Voyageurs National Park!

It is the most affordable place we found, and the owners are really nice! We $32 (with tax included) a night for full hook ups - can't complain about that. Our spot was shaded and near the entrance, and we were able to pull through in our 28' motorhome (detached tow vehicle). Lots of shade and not too close to your neighbors. The owners greeted when we arrived and gave us some insight on places to go in the small town. Grocery store, laundry mat and gas stations are all close by. We stayed in late August and was not busy, with many spots open. Good cell reception for both Verizon and ATT hotspots, which is a plus for us working full-time remotely. Some noise at night, but was not bad; train only came by twice at night during the 5 nights we stayed. Would definitely stay here again!

But you can’t beat the convenience. 45 min from Ash River Visitors Center; 25 min from Rainy Lake. While we were here we also took advantage of the grocery store and laundromat just a few minutes away. As for the campground itself, it was a luxury for us to have full hookup. And it was shaded, our neighbors were quiet, and owners were very friendly.

Very handy access to Voyagers National Park and Int’l Falls. We only stayed 1 night. We would have stayed a few more if it wasn’t for the highway running next to it. It must be a prerequisite that if you own a pickup truck, and are driving past RV parks, you must have loud pipes and gun it as you pull out of the McDonalds across the street. Tips: Be sure to visit the Koochiching and Bronko Nurgurski Museums in Int’l Falls. Very interesting local history and authentic artifacts. There are also many other intriguing displays and collections.

We were looking for a convenient place to stay after spending a week at public campground with no dump station, and this fit the bill. While not the most scenic spot, the sites were fine, the staff at the front desk friendly and helpful, and the location perfect for our needs. Also, despite the fact that it's located right off the main road, it was quiet during our stay.
