Long story short, the resort itself provides direct access to Voyageurs National Park, is immaculately maintained, has top-shelf amenities, and the staff is terrific. You truly get what you pay for. After hours of driving, we just wanted to get to our site and settle in. Jeanne greeted us at the front office and was very kind, friendly, and helpful upon arrival. She treated us like family. Tom guided us to site number 21 on the upper level with a poured concrete pad with pristine full-hookups. We were pleasantly surprised at just how spread-out the sites were. There isn't a bad site in the entire resort. It comes down to what your preference is. Do you prefer the community experience? The sites on the lower level fill that preference. Spread out with more privacy? Reserve a site on the upper level. The restrooms were an unexpected surprise. They are absolutely spotless with granite countertops and glass bowl sinks!?! We didn't expect to walk into a luxury bathroom experience at an RV resort. The view of the sky at night was amazing. We didn't know this until we arrived and walked over to the Lake Kabetogama Voyageurs National Park Visitors Center that the park is Dark Sky Certified.Having direct shoreline access to Voyageurs National Park was the highlight for my family. As soon as you are on the water, you are in a National Park. If you have a boat, be sure and bring it along; otherwise, you can rent one from the resort and tour the lake. Tom informed us that if you have a motorhome RV, as we do, and you tow your boat, the staff will launch your boat for you. The resort has an extensive dock system with 16 slips by our count. In terms of wildlife, we were fortunate enough to see more deer than we could count, as well as several bald eagles and loons during our stay. There are on-site coin-operated washers and dryers, which we did not use, but are nice to know are available. If we were there for a more extended stay we would use them for sure. Even though we were not staying in the luxury cabins, the staff was kind enough to allow us to peek inside, and they are immaculate. The decor is iconic, and the finishing touches are high quality. They aren't like the other ramshackle bunkhouses with spring bed frames we've stayed at in the past.As I began my review, the resort provides direct access to Voyageurs National Park, is immaculately maintained, has top-shelf amenities, and the staff is terrific. You truly get what you pay for. We camped at The Pines of Kabetogama Resort in a Motorhome.

  • Definitely expensive but good for larger RV

Take in to consideration that it was 80 and at times smoke from Canada, we wanted full-hooks ups.We stay in the cliff side sites. When we arrived, it was pouring down rain. The golf cart said follow me. After a U turn, we started up a very steep paved hill (well, sort of paved as it needs some repair). After making it to the top of the hill (and I heart started beating) you make a left and once again another steep hill. Well we made it to the top!Sites are partial concrete pad, gravel and grass. There is a plastic picnic table and a fire ring. Site was mostly level. All utilities worked great. WiFi was really slow. There is some separation between sites,The views from the cliff were nice and there is a path down to the dock.

Steep walk to store, laundry, and docks. WiFi is okay but Campground staff told us it is subject to how busy the campground is and it did slow down with more campers here. But all in all, this place was very good.

We were on the top level where we had a concrete slab, but it wasn’t quite wide enough to step on to and had mud outside our door the whole week. (They did try and fix it, but it rained multiple times). Our site wasn’t on the cliff side, so didn’t really have too much of a view. And we did have to use leveling blocks, which on a slab was a bummer. If we stayed again, we would probably just stay on the bottom where everyone is lined up and it’s less fancy, but would have been fine for us. We were not really at our site that much, we spent time out and about on the water and exploring the area. The use of free kayaks, canoes and SUPs was great. And the staff and volunteers were all super nice and helpful. We used the laundry and it was a bit pricey but fine. We learned how short the season up there is and it justified a lot of the costs we encountered both at the pines and other places. We would stay again if in the area.

  • Nice place with good access to the lake.

I don’t know about canoes or kayaks but the resort next door had them at least. They had WiFi but it was weak and slow. Cell was not good there but was availability if you went out to the main road. The 2 bars I gave it were only sometimes. Spaces weren’t too close but not much for trees.

We arrived here and worked 2.5 hours to get level, with no luck. Moved to a more level site, where we are wedged between others - they have the great views - and we have the view of the bathroom. Once we get settled, our grouchy neighbor complains about our engine noise - which we have to run to get leveled & slides out.
