I was treated very badly here, I feel the people there were racist. I was talked to on many occasions about things other campers were doing also. More than one car per site, told my truck would be towed because I parked in front of the shower house, my truck couldn'tstick out on the road, they kept on and on, while the others around me...moreI was treated very badly here, I feel the people there were racist. I was talked to on many occasions about things other campers were doing also. More than one car per site, told my truck would be towed because I parked in front of the shower house, my truck couldn'tstick out on the road, they kept on and on, while the others around me were left alone. It is very outdated the showers look like from the 1950s and handle was broken. They are trying to sell the place, I was told, but that is no excuse.

  • Very Tight! Would not stay here unless it’s overnight

The electric box was shared by 4 campsites on the opposite of our rig’s electrical hook-up. We are sharing the water with 2 other sites and it’s at the far back of our site on someone else’s site. The plus—was that the heated pool was right across from our site. We needed to do laundry when we got here too. There were only 3 small coin washers and 2 dryers. Washed 3 lids of clothes and went to load the dryer and one wasn’t working. Had to take all of our wet clothes and our 4th load to wash to Frankfort and pay $4.50 a load to wash. So, overall, not happy…and we are here for 4 nights. The little town of Frankfort is precious. We just came from Grand Haven and liked the small town lake vibe of Frankfort better.

Some sites have the power pedestal in the back with the water in front. Other sites share 1 water spigot with 3 faucets requiring hoses to be run across sites. The full hookup area is very tightly packed and some of the sewer connections are actually in other sites, so you might need a long hose. The sites are all sandy gravel and many of them are uneven, so be aware of that.We requested a full hookup site when I made the reservation. They gave me a list of open sites while I looked at a map and she said the one I chose was full hookup. Because of this, we did not bring the tote (our waste tanks are only 18 and 12 gallon for grey and black). We were halfway setup when we couldn't find the sewer connection. When I asked where it was, I was informed that we were at a 20 amp water and electric only site. It turned out to be okay with us. The site is much wider (but not as deep) as the FHU sites with more space in between sites. We were fine with the 20 amp. A fifty amp rig wouldn't fit in this spot anyway. The park has a honey wagon service 3 times a week, so that got us through without needing to move the trailer to dump.

We got lucky with this one! Called around everywhere to find a campsite and this place had 1 site available. We took it and it turned out to be a fantastic little site directly on the Betsie River. Had electric and water hookup, could walk right into the river and float down stream. Bathrooms were very clean and had a pool and small convenience store. Will be back and would recommend. Oh and if you don’t have a trailer, they have some on the river that they rent out.
