We stayed here for 3 nights in our Lance 1985 trailer. Had a great time. If you are expecting luxury camping this place is not for you, however, they have all the necessary things to make your stay a great one. They have a dump station, water hookups and electric hookups. The electric is only on during certain hours because the power is provided by a generator at the campground. We were camped right on the lake and had a great view. The campsites have a picnic table, fire pit and a small leanto enclosure. We saw a few moose during our exploring and had a great campfire every night. Just make sure you bring everything you need because you are off grid here and can not run to the store for items. The only issue you need to be prepared for is the 23 miles in on a dirt road can be very bumpy. We had a few issues with the trailer after the ride in and out. If you want an off gird experience in the Maine North Woods with some comfort. this is a good place to stay

  • Very remote, but peaceful right on the shores of Moosehead Lake

If you are looking for a very remote and peaceful campground, look no further. You will find no cell phone signal and power only for a few hours of the day. To get here you will have to drive or tow through more than 13 miles of dirt roads that can sometimes be challenging to navigate, but once you make it there you will quickly find out it was all worth it.You can camp right on the shoreline and have your own little private beach. Yes the waterfront sites offer no privacy whatsoever but that is the cost of having your own little beach.Sites have water, and they run the generator for a few hours a day in order to recharge your batteries. They also have an onsite dump.Make sure you bring everything you need with you, food, coffee, creamer, everything! You will not find a store for more than 20 miles. This campground is the perfect place to launch some exploratory trips through the North Maine Woods, go swimming on the lake, go canoeing or kayaking, or just simply relax.
