If you are coming from the North make a wide turn in as the entrance points north and is through a somewhat narrow gate. We are a 32’ 5th wheel and had no problem maneuvering the one way road to our site. Our site is really big and tucked into a private corner. Highly recommend, staff are very nice and it’s peaceful.

  • Horrible design for RVs.

Stupid gate to exit is way to close. You can’t turn without hitting your trailer on it. Had to be going back and forth for a good 5 min to make it work. We have a 36 foot trailer they put us in 35 knowing our size. 35 and the ones next to us were all on a hill. We could not level our trailer either way…we had to sleep on a slope. Our kids found it fun to put the cars at the back and they rolled to the front really fast. Sites were so close to each other it was like a parking lot. If you have a trailer over 25ft don’t camp here!

I usually hate going to private campgrounds, particularly in high tourism areas. They are generally just parking lots where the owner tries to jam in as many RVs as they can, where the only sight out your window is an adjacent RV.Spacing at Dixon's was more in line with a state or federal campground. We were in site 83 with only one neighbor separated by trees, the rest was woods. The sit was level and clean with plenty of room for our Class B and Clam Shelter. With had a nice fire pit and table and plenty of room to spare. Facilities were as clean and well maintained as in Fort Wilderness. We spent a week there, and we're within minutes of the beach, shopping and a wide selection of places to eat. Definitely rates a 5 star rating.

  • Love the wooded sites-great nature feel for a private park!

Everyone we talked to who worked there was so friendly and welcoming. We reserved over the phone but they said we could drive around and pick whatever spot we wanted once we got there. There’s a few sections of the park- one more open area near the pool that seems to be where most larger and less nimble rigs stay. We stayed in site 86 off of a much more wooded loop that had more of a nature feel which was what we wanted- however I think navigating this loop with a larger rig could be difficult and most of the spots are on the smaller side (we did fit our 23 footer with plenty of room to spare). The restrooms and showers are nice and cleaned regularly. 50 cents gets you 5 minutes. There is a pool but we didn’t use it.Location is great in between ogunquit and York with both towns/beaches being 5-10 minutes away. Our AT&T service was good and had speeds high enough that we didn’t both testing. The park was following all COVID guidelines (although mentioned their business is really hurting since no Canadians can come down) and visitors throughout both towns were always masked and social distancing.

There are a variety of sites. The host was more than helpful. At this point there are no visitors allowed. We would stay again. We have straight talk cell service and it worked fine.

The key is that the new owners are in the process of rebuilding all the public structures, such that the rustic bathrooms, and pool cabana were all new and lovely, in a woodsy way, not in a JW Marriott way. They appear to be mostly done. There is a pool. Connectivity was fine; they have wifi and there are plenty of tent sites, as well as large rig and RV sites, yet it is not a huge campground. Driving distance to Nubble Light was very good, but photographers, be aware: Nubble Light is being renovated, so there is an ugly cylindrical shroud around it! Staff was very friendly. There is a $10 refundable gate key.
