We enjoyed our time at Amana RV Park. The sites are huge, as long as they don't double them up. A quick 2 minute drive into Amana for a great meat store, restaurants and shops. Right in the middle of all the Amana villages with nearby walking trails and golf course. The wifi didn't work, but the laundry room was ok.

Large open field like RV Park. No shade. But, after hours self check in was great. Good TV via antenna, good cell service and free WiFi worked very well. Comfortable for 1 night in October.

  • More of an event center than an RV Park

The irony is that we sold everything, including the farm, to leave Iowa and fulltime in November, 2019! Never in a million years would have envisioned staying in Iowa as fulltimers in April!!Having said all that, this is not our kind of place. On the plus side, the place was mostly empty and we had plenty of room to spread out. Other than walking/hiking, there really was nearly nothing to do with nearly everything shut down. The park is enormous and it most definitely is geared toward rallies/events rather than a destination RV park. Basically a huge field with long gravel pads -- sorely in need of updating -- where rigs would be back-to-back while sharing the same power pedestal and spigot. Interior roads are somewhat tight. It is almost impossible to not run over grass while turning into a site. The only facility open was the laundry room which was adequate. Never had a chance to check out the clubhouse or shower facilities. The staff was friendly enough although sticklers for details -- probably because of the Covids. All in all, we couldn't wait to bust out of there in early May. Would be very unlikely we would ever return here to camp.

Stayed here one night on a cross county trip. Nothing fancy, cornfields all around but right near the Colonies. No privacy but that was fine for us. The person answering the phone to make me ur reservation was very nice. Easy to find our spot after hours when we arrived.

Spent 3 weeks here inAugust; 2 weeks in October. All sites are double long pull thrus. Plenty of room. In August they accommodated my desire for A site with a tree. In October brrrr tree not needed. Nice staff. Facilities clean, some a-bit dated. Convenient to the Amana Colonies, Iowa City, Cedar Rapids and SE Iowa in general.

This RV park was closest to the areas we wanted to visit. When we arrived, they directed us to our spot. The spot was half gravel/dirt and half tall weeds. The sites are very long but they are not pull throughs. You are back to back with your neighbor on the same large site. Also, the drainage is poor so you getting some pockets of standing water/mud. Also, the Amana Colonies were fun but not a true "attraction".

It was the week of 4th of July; yes, shame on me for not making a reservation earlier. Won’t do that again. Everything was booked! Amana RV gave us a place to stay. We were so thankful and blessed for the accommodations. It was so pretty there. It was roomy, showers and restrooms were clean and stocked. There wasn’t much shade in the area we were in. But we were just staying the night. Our camper sat on a gravel drive and the grass was thick but mowed. So, even if it rained you wouldn’t be standing or tracking in mud. The staff was very friendly. Even the town looked to be intriguing with its shops and at least 1 German restaurant. Anyway, our campsite was $32 with AAA discount. Free wi-fi. I give this campground 4 1/2 stars. Thank you Amana Rv for your hospitality. -Avon, IN

The campground is one huge field with gravel packed strips in among the grassy field which meant three days of rain left puddles and mud and lots of challenges when walking to the central shower house. Not a great experience. This is mostly an event venue so no trees and no privacy. There are two campsites in each strip so you have the potential of being backed up to another camper. Both campsites feed off the same electric and water posts so you could potentially be right on top of each other. The shower house is centrally located but it's old with a concrete floor and unheated showers. The people in the office were pleasant enough but gave us some seriously misleading information about the area, so be advised if you do decide to stay here while in the area.
