We stayed here while in town for work. This is a beautiful and peaceful oasis, which is easy to reach. The pond is beautiful and the community fire pit is a great place to meet new friends. We really enjoyed our stay and look forward to our next visit.

If it wasn't for the COVID-19 restrictions this place would be so much fun. Lake, with beach and swimming area. Nice pool, lots of activities for the whole family. Sites are carved into the hill so getting level is a challenge.

Quiet. Clean. Nice views of the pond. We only stayed one night but we’ll definitely add to our travel stops. It is right off I-80 so very convenient. Although we made our reservation after hours, an e-mail confirmation and information was sent.Cell service was great - We didn’t try WiFi.

It’s not horrible, but it’s not great. A large number of the RV’s appeared to be full time residents. They had decks built and permanent structures on their sites. The sites are not even close to level. Overall the residents were quiet, but the highway noise is very loud.

We stayed one night on our way out west. Check in was quick and easy. The campground itself was quiet, bathrooms and laundry were clean and well maintained. The sites were pull through and had full hookups but were not paved or level. Overall a nice campground, we would stay here again.

The site and facilities were decent. However, with -degree wind chill blowing off the interstate and across the lake to our site, we froze our cojones off. Most days we kept the shades drawn, and the heat cranked, slipping across the icy road to use bathroom, subpar showers, good laundry. DO NOT get anything delivered here. Local UPS lied and said they tried to deliver when they did not. +++ for warm bathrooms, strong cell, low key and responsive management. If you must....

(the inner gravel roads are fine) Then there's the restroom/showers; a trip to local Home Depot in Iowa City for some paint, updated fixtures, new shower mats for the floor, new shower curtains, add hooks and shelving in the sink/vanity area for your things, and add paper towels that most campers would use to "clean up" (wipe down) their sink area after their use, but w/o them there's no way to do it and that area gets messy (They do clean the restrooms - but still - and grounds keeper is on site keeping things around camp tidy) There is little air movement inside even though there is a large fan/blower at the one end; it's not effective making it "stuffy" inside. So for all my suggested remarks my rating is still a 4 . . . because it's all related to improving conveniences since the rest of the park is very functional. Yes it's true some sites are on a small hill making leveling inconvenient, but you can always ask to move; after all this IS a campground and not billed as a 5 star resort with cement pads and patio's . . .after all. We will be back again and again.

It is better on the North end, the south end people can't connected but they said they will install another antenna. We have some high tech gear and were able to connect. The speed is adequate during the day and slows down a bit at night. We had the spot reserved that we stayed at last time we were here, there was someone in the spot for the next month, and we really wanted/needed it for satellite reception (mature trees) since they don't have cable. Luckily after the first night they were able to accommodate our reservation spot and we were very grateful. This time of year the weekdays slow down and there is more activity on the weekends. We like the people that own and run the park, I just wish more sites were leveler. This place is very easy to get to right off I80 but with a 40'DP some of the sites are more difficult to get into. If you don't like interstate noise stay as far North as possible.

When we got to our site we couldn't get level, I did something I've never done before and drive our 40DP onto blocks and put railroad ties under the jacks to get the front up high enough to level, the ground is pretty soft so the back jack sunk about four inches over night. We had to pile some boards to make a step so getting in/out of the coach was easier. We moved the second day into a level site and it was much better. Its crazy how maIts pretty quiet on the South side of the park but on weekends the North side gets pretty crazy with kids running around and some late night partiers. We found a wonderful restaurant 3 miles into town called Augusta that we'd recommend. It appears a lot of people park there for the summer and stay on weekends, the rest seem to stay for a night or two, like we did, because its right on Interstate 80 between Des Moines and Davenport. There is a bit of Interstate noise.
