She said she had one site available that was big enough for us up on the hill. Let me tell you, no matter what you DO NOT want to be up on that hill. It was a harrowing experience getting up there, only to definitively demonstrate that there was no way we could fit our rig in spot 15. The worst was yet to come! Our rig and truck are all scratched up, and our nerves are totally shot from trying to get down that hill in one piece!See the photo I snapped of their campground map. If you can get one of the lower sites, and you have low expectations, you might be perfectly content here. But I can’t stress enough that you don’t want to be up on that hill. Look at it! If we had somehow managed to get our rig into spot 15, how could anyone have gotten past us to get past us to get into 13 or 14? (There’s no chance.) Worse than that, what if you got backed into 13 when 14 & 15 were empty (they’d absolutely have to be), how could you ever get out if 14 became occupied?! (There’s no chance! You wouldn’t even be able to keep your tow vehicle up there or you’d be completely trapped.)When I politely told Angela that there was no way we can make our rig fit, she said there were no other spots available for our stay. So of course, I asked for a refund. She said that the owner wouldn’t allow it, and she seemed genuinely scared. I was firm but fair, after all I explained the type and length of our rig when I made the reservation with her. She pointed at the map and insisted that the spot was big enough. In the end I got a refund for our 2nd night. I’m not certain yet what I might do about the $47 I got swindled out of, but I’m here to warn my fellow RVers... DONT TAKE A SPOT ON THAT HILL!

Entering the RV Park was kind of awkward, as there is limited signage to show you were to go or what to do. But the RV Park is directly behind the hotel. You have to then park and go to the hotel to register. The river sites are better, but the site we had was still good for us. The sites on top of the hill are very close to each other, so I would not want to be up there. Those are the cheaper sites. Everything is within walking distance. We drove nowhere once we arrived to our site. Hot springs were amazing.

The draw to this small Idaho community is the Hot Spring Pools. This RV Park is right across the street and Very convenient access to the pools. The street access to the park is not very welcoming. Poor signage, dirt road and overgrown shrubs make you question if you’re headed in the right direction. The spots are short and our 40’ rig sticks way out into the gravel circle. We are the only ones in the park and I was still uncomfortable. Here’s my complaint, we paid over $100 for 2 nights. Honestly that’s double what it should have been. We don’t mind paying a premium but we expect more from the resort. Disappointed!

We enjoyed our stay here. It’s cheaper than the KOA (the only other rv site in the area) however there are no showers nor bathrooms. We walked across the street to the hot springs and enjoyed an hour or so there and showered after. Internet is slow but available.

We came to soak at the cities hot spring pool across the street. These pools are great!!!!This RV place is behind an old motel. There are RV pads and hookups. You can park backed up next to river. The pads are kinda stacked next to each other so if it's crowded it could be a little close quarters. The day we camped it was not crowded and we were very comfortable and it was quiet. You can watch tubers floating down the river just below you. I suspect the cell reception is good because it's in a town, but I don't remember. Lava is a cute little town. There are restaurants on the main drag. It is a resort vacation community so it can get crowded on weekends. We had a pleasant time here and would return.
