We have been full-timing since August and have stayed at a lot of KOA’s. This may be our favorite. The location is perfect, and it is set amongst its own pond. This KOA doesnt seem to he saddled with so many endless rules and endless workers on golf carts like some KOA’s.

This was our first experience camping at a KOA primary because the nightly fee is too high, and we prefer larger more private sites. We decided to vacation in St Augustine Christmas week, choosing this campground because of its location and availability. We were along the wall behind a shopping plaza. The sites were close but fine for us with our smaller RV. The site had a picnic table and fire ring. We didn’t use the fire ring because it was so close to the neighbor. The center area is pull through sites with chimney fire pits, table and chairs, grill on a concrete pad. I would prefer this area should we come again. Exceptional bathroom and shower areas. Nice laundry area. Overall very clean and guests were quiet. Friendly staff. It is walking distance to the beach, shopping and dining. The trolly was convenient for touring St Augustine.

The site we were at was dirt, but most of the big rig spots are asphalt and come with chairs, table and grills. The sites are pretty close together, but we didn't come here for privacy or views. We really enjoyed the pool, and the laundry/bath house in the middle of the campground seems to be brand new. The showers were individual rooms for maximum privacy. They even have daily trash pick up every morning! The staff was super nice and overall it exceeded our expectations.

We didn't select this campground to hang out but to explore St Augustine. If you book site 61 you may have to back out of the site as there is a median and power box that make it difficult to turn right to exit. Backing out was a breeze and not a big deal for us with our 34ft travel trailer. The location was central to everything, Beach 3/4 mile, Amphitheater minutes away, Old City 15 mins, & Alligator Farm Zoo also minutes away. Easy check in and out, Got the site we booked, friendly staff, lead us to our site, pull through site with full hook ups (50/30/20) on asphalt (Narrow but easy), not level (easy fix), concrete pad with table chairs & propane grill included. Clean bathrooms, pool, & small dog park. This is an older campground but about what you'd expect from a KOA. Due to the location we will return and have more fun!

The small area between our space and the tent camper(in spot 15) became spot 15A overnight and we had someone camping about 5 foot from our front door when we woke up. Had to remove the spot marker from the ground in order to wedge our truck sideways (F-150) in front of the trailer, couldn’t even open the truck door. Dominoes Pizza was about 15 foot behind our trailer, so we heard car stereos and loud mufflers all night. The spot was muddy after the rain. The propane was 3.5x the price we’ve paid anywhere else in the country. WiFi was hit/miss. A positive was the front desk staff and groundskeeper was very friendly.

Nice KOA. Our site was fairly level, but some were not. Staff was friendly and I was impressed that the sites had gas grills and some had fire pits too. Each site had a nice set of table and chairs.

Very friendly staff, very clean large bathrooms and showers. Level paved pull thru lots with tables and gas’s grills. Centrally located. Easy in and out for the campground. Camp sites are close but this was not a problem. Very close to beach and historic st. Augustine.

You are one mile from the beach and the trolley comes right into the park (you can purchase a 3 day trolley pass that is good for the shuttle and the trolley tour. The KOA has a pool (very small) and the sites are not really as small as everyone is saying. We had a pull through site and thought it was very comfortable. We did have an escort to the site - but the guy went really fast - as though he did not realize that we were towing a long fifth wheel behind us.The left turn into the park after you take a right onto Pope Road is immediate - so be on the watch for that, especially if you are towing and are long (we are a 39 foot fifth wheel). You take a right onto Pope Road and an immediate left turn into the KOA and there is not a lot of space to park you rig while you check in. Although you are not right on the road, you can hear the road noise at night.

They were very friendly and helpful with everything from delivering fire wood to helping people fix small things on their campers. The problem for me was the campsites. They were very tight. To get around my slide I had to basically step into our neighbors campsite. The fire pit is about 3 ft from the road so sitting by the fire in our chairs we were literally sitting inches from the road and had to move when campers were pulling through. And then the parking pad was very uneven. I trippled up on the back tire stops and only put one in the front and made my wife get out of the camper when I disconnected the fifth wheel hitch in case it rolled away. It was that bad lol. I had to use a block of those tire levels (10 to a block) to set under each of my rear stabilizers because the backend was so high while my fifth wheel hitch was only about 3.5-4 ft off the ground. The “lake” which was just an oblong pond had some pretty big fish jumping around in it. I couldn’t get anything to bite but didn’t try hard. Only there a lure in a few times. There’s plenty of ducks and cormorants around to feed. Locale is great. It was a short drive to the heart of St Augustine and is near the St Augustine Amphitheater where we happened upon a really great farmers market going on. As close as everyone was to each other though, it was extremely quiet and relaxing! Cable and WiFi were provided with site. Cable was mediocre with about 10 channels and I found myself disconnecting from WiFi every time I was connected because it wouldn’t load my requests. They also have a little dog park that is fenced in so your dogs can run around and play off leash.

Sites are pretty much stacked up on top of one another but there are full hook ups, wifi and cable tv. There is also a pool, fenced dog run, playground and broad rentals. We opted for a "lake" ground site. It's really a small pond but I did see people fishing out of it. It was only a few bucks more than the other sites. Ours was also s pull through quick I feel is cheating but it was the only sites available since I booked 1 day in advance and in a Friday. Site was not at all level front to back to the point at which my wife was worried that our Airstream would roll into the lake when we unhitched. 4 mi drive to downtown which is a plus. Another good alternative if you are visiting St Augustine and Anastasia SP is not available and Faver Dykes is too far away for you.
