Its like a boutique hotel with caring staff, updated landscape with grass islands between sites and in common areas. The RV pad and roadways are covered with white large gravel. It helped keep the sand from getting into the RV and helped provide a solid base to maintain a level site. The hookups particularly the sewer were at the right height and the water flow was strong. The cable was excellent and we had few issues with the internet. We were there during a heavy storm with possible tornadoes. There was shelter in a house basement and the laundry room. I felt completely safe in the basement. There was no damage to the canopy of live oaks or to the RVs. The next morning there were no significant puddles of water on my site nor on the roadways. The beach has been described as being small. In my opinion, it accommodated a full park with many families having children and dogs without seeming crowded. The water is shallow for quite a long distance making it perfect for children and others who like water warmed by the sun. It was worth spending 35.00 to lock in the site. We got just what was advertised plus more! This is the best review I have ever written and I am so glad to be submitting it.

The campground is older, and the new owners are trying to make improvements....that's a good thing. Sites are incredibly tight and the trees, while they are lovely and provide nice shade are WAY overgrown and I would not advise anyone with a taller rig to stay here. We saw several come and go (both 5th wheels and class A's) that rubbed on the roof and sides. We had a monthly rate and were quoted one thing on the phone, but check the link you get by email confirming, because it was quite different. I called back and it was adjusted. A word to the wise, the book keeping seems a little creative to me, so if you reserve, screen shot it because it changes (sadly I hadn't done that so had no hard proof)--we spoke to other campers with the same issue. Some sites that are billed as premium water view have what I'd call a glimpse of the water, and the one our friends stayed in had a small triangle of ground on the camp side with no room for picnic table, but not sure I'd like that because the sewer, water and power pedestal were all right there outside the camper door. The campground is on the sound and there is a little beach which dogs are allowed on, so if you travel with pets, this may be a good choice for you. They have brought in pretty white sand on the bank leading down to the beach which looks really nice and they've put down some sod in many sites, but they request you not put anything on the grass. The sunsets can be spectacular so you can carry your chairs down to enjoy them....would be nice if they placed some permanent chairs in this area for the guests to use. They do overbook and use any open space for "overflow" and run long electric extension cords. They have some tent sites but they are wedged between the road and a board fence. I felt very bad for the tent campers here. Many of the RV sites don't have enough room to park you tow vehicle. No campfires allowed at your site, only the "communal pit" by the corn hole boards and laundry room. Bring your own wood. We inquired about using our propane fire pit and they said absolutely no. Not sure why a communal smoky fire pit is safer than my little propane one, but that's the rules. We didn't use the shower house but peeked in. It's an older one refurbished in a "rustic shabby chic" decor which was cute.Read the other reviews, both good a bad because there's both here.

We had a waterfront site and loved the entire experience. We enjoyed walking the dog on the beach and kids loved playing in the sand. Beautiful sunrises and sunsets. The community campfire is a very nice feature as well.

When we made reservation we asked for private, looked good, but then they parked a camper in driveway (not a site) next to us and his door opened to ours and our picnic tables were 3 ft apart (during Covid). They had already moved guy twice. They apparently overbook and then try and find a hole to put you, anything for the dollar. Lots of tenters piled up against fence, no space between them. Someone had sewer problems, said they would have to park at Walmart till they got it fixed. Nasty bathrooms. Kept trying to speak with Management, but she never called us back. Since they had overbooked we told them we would leave if they would give a refund. They said they didn’t give refunds. I wouldn’t stay here again if it was free.

We booked for a month and left early because we were tired of the noise and issues. We stayed at 30+ RV parks all across the US in 2021, and this one is the worst of them all! Aside from the crammed sites, and the extension chords running to makeshift campsites; when we arrived, the who parked us was demanding and disrespectful, and made inaccurate assumptions about my partners driving abilities. We experienced leaf blowers as 7:30 AM on multiple mornings before the office staff was even present, covering everything in dust and waking us up, along with other campers that we spoke with. There were dump trucks and bulldozers on a daily basis, for hours on end. The Sprinklers damaged our RV because they were shooting everywhere except the grass. While actively damaging our RV, the staff told us we were being dramatic. The view from our site was scrap wood piles on one side, and gravel piles and a dumpster on the other side; accompanied by the constant tossing and banging of lumber, and machinery. They sprayed pesticides without notifying us. When we let our dog out in the morning, he was in the wet chemicals until we saw the tiny sign in the grass, placed where it could not be seen without walking through the wet chemicals. Out stairs were on the grass with the chemicals because the site was so narrow. The inexperienced management was not sympathetic to the issues they were causing and threatened to kick us out because we were unhappy. They did not for a single moment stop to ask why we were unhappy. In addition, they were not transparent about fees, so it ended up being about $1,300 for a month of stress, zero privacy, and damaged belongings.Weird policy, they do not allow for outdoor candles, torches, or smal propane fire pits; which we have been able to use in even the most sever burn bans in the west.

Do yourself a favor and get there during that time as a night park could be confusing. Once parked you’ll love the trees and their canopy. We had a Premium Waterview site and it did not disappoint. To make the most of the view some of the sites can see each other but we found we still had enough privacy to hang out outside; if you like to meet people this place also has a great community area with a fire pit and games. The best thing about HR is the private beach on the beautiful Santa Rosa Sound. It was better than the actual beach! It’s calm and shallow perfect for kids and pets (who can be unleashed on the beach!). The girls in the office are sweet and helpful and Carly was awesome, even remembering my dogs names and asking after them. I’ll definitely return (already trying to plan that trip!!) and stay here again, hopefully getting one of the prime waterfront spots.

Walmart and dollar store are bout a mile or less away in case of restocking needs. The atmosphere was nice and family oriented. We didn’t run into anyone there with attitudes. The staff were always considerate and well mannered. Be sure and read over carefully the booking because there are additional fees for guests, vehicles. If you want to reserve ahead and want a specific site, there is a site locking fee that will keep you from being given an equivalent site pending need.

Note that navigating the trees with a big rig is going to be very challenging and take someone with a good eye and hand! The staff will help but you need to know how to maneuver your rig. We do drive a 41-ft fifth wheel but saw smaller trailers require multiple adjustments in all spots. The staff will do everything possible to keep you all in one spot but the organization seems messy. We had booked an overflow spot and we’re told no sewage, which was fine. Upon check in, we were also told it’d be limited power, which wasn’t an option for us. So they moved reservations around, charged us the difference, and put us in a regular spot. The owner is the most confusing person I have ever dealt with. She charged my credit card three times and has refused to agree to what was discussed in her office. She has been extremely rude, very frustrating... and cheating our family on our 4-night stay. I suggest recording your conversations when discussing pricing of your stay...Some spots have a picnic table, other don’t - ours didn’t. We were opening up to sand and had no space to even put camping chairs. Other spots have little wooden decks and a lot more space than we had. Good WiFi but you’ll need to use your extender! But we were able to work full time, no problem! The grounds are beautiful however and the kids had a great time. There is a natural playground they spent hours at. The little beach is not on the Gulf, but still a very nice hangout with warmer waters than the gulf! On weekends, get to Navarre Beach early!! Easy and quick access by car (about 5 minutes) and beautiful white powder beaches! Overall a wonderful and idyllic little place, but not sure they should be accepting big rigs. Expect to scratch the top and sides...

Our site was VERY cozy, and the ladies checking us in helped us back into the spot between beautiful magnolia trees. It would be very difficult to check in after dark without help. The beach barrier is under construction (likely from the last hurricane), but the dog beach is beautiful and Dotty ran around with glee. Neighbors are super friendly, but everyone is close and not a lot of privacy. WiFi is offered, but not great. I had some trouble with my AT&T and Verizon hotspots so I ended up spending a day outside at Ye Olde Brothers Brewery to work and let Dotty hang out in the grass. If you have PTSD: Be careful staying anywhere on this part of the Florida Gulf Coast as the AF does their training nightly from 8-11pm and they are shooting 20mm Canons from the AC130, as well as 20mm guns with both live and inert munitions just 10 miles away. Some of the explosions shook the trailer. It didn't bother Dotty and I much once we knew what the source of the noise was from.No firepits at the site, instead they prefer you join the communal pit in the center of the park where they provide the fire and you can meet some of your neighbors. It's a very cozy vibe, and we met some really nice campers during our stay. Would definitely come again!

The challenge for big rigs (class A and large 5th wheelers) are the trees. The trees are the charm of the park and yet a challenge for large rigs. The owner loves her trees and she should. They give the park a natural and comfortable feel. But she will not be trimming the trees to accommodate taller rigs. We had site 47 on the water. Not the best water view but it was still very nice. Hurricane Sally destroyed quite a bit of the areas beach walls, but the beach walking is still nice. Keep in mind this is the bay, not the pure white sands of Navarro Beach. Which is just a 10 minute drive across the causeway. Worth the short trip! There is a very nice gathering area with a fire pit, benches and chairs, corn hole and a few other games and a lit with string lights. Only negative is a bit busy the state highway is busy until 10 pm.

Friendly staff. * Tom Thumb is directly across from the campground and carries diesel. * Navarre Beach is about 10 minutes by the car and is another beautiful place to experience & see the sunsets. * We are avid cyclists and we figured out a route from the campground to Navarre Beach (7.5 miles - going through the neighborhoods behind Tom Thumb) and then from the Navarre Beach (turning right) to the Gulf Islands National Seashore (7 miles of pure beauty). We were able to get 40+ miles in and we could have gone further if we were up to it. Cons:* Highway noise (we are right next to HWY 98)* Close to a major Air Force base and there are nighly bullet/bombing sounds at night along with AC130's Gunship. For many, this is the sound of freedom. For others, it could be a problem if one has PTSD. At one time, the noise was so loud we thought someone was actually knocking on our door. We used our HEPA on the highest setting to generate as much white noise as possible. This helped with reducing highway noise primarily. * Charged a Credit Card Fee on top of monthly rate + $150 electric deposit We stayed from Nov. 10 - Dec. 10, 2020. We also paid the water premium rate to be close to the water as possible.

The campground staff I worked with both over the phone and checked me was super friendly and nice. She told me I had a good spot right next to the bath house. That I did, right next to the bath house that appears to have a water leak under the building and right next to a security light. The spot i was give did not resemble even remotely a camping spot but rather fresh white rock with one power stand that was to prove power to the other 6 plus “sites” along that line of gravel. She even referred to where was as over flow guest parking and my reserved site was marked by orange cones. The staff person I could back in the trailer and park along side of camper and she even left 2 cones to block it so no one else would park there.Later that night after seeing them pack more campers in, I finally crawled into the nice cool camper and then the power goes. I got outside and I see 3 other campsites all with flashlights trying to figure out what happened. Come to find out the last big RV they shoved in there also jumped on the same 15amp breaker. So we had to figure out their pole situation since 6+ sites were all hooked..Day #2 come back from long day of beach and new campers in and nearly parked into my site. So i pulled my truck up side ways just like many other sites were doing to even get their tow vehicles parked. The owner was backing another trailer in and told me I need to move my truck into the tight space.. hot and tired from the day I wiggled it into the spot she asked. Took a nap came back out and owner comes back up and tells me now she wants me to move my truck back the way I had it because they cant park all their vehicles... so now a bit frustrated I take off for some food. I come back 20 or so mins later, its now after hours and I find a red ford truck backed up to my camper as if they were going to hitch up and go. No one to be found around. Noooo other parking spaces so I drive around. I run by the office in which 2 emergency numbers are posted. Neither scott of the other lady ever answer their phones. Left a vm @ main office which was never returned. Finally i sit in the main road and lady comes walking up to grab cell phone chargers out of the truck and starts to walk away. I yell at her and told her this was my site and I need to park here. Her reply was “ well they told me to park here this was overflow parking”???Day#3 i make reservations at a hotel at Ft Walton and stop in office. Showed them them the pics and told them the story. They were sympathetic and said they would talk to the owner. That was Sunday morning, today is Weds and no response. I had booked through Thursday. Left a voicemail again today and no response. Not even an attempt at an apology... This is piss poorly run and they are more worrier about making money by stacking as many rvs in as they can then making a good experience

Great view and the lady in the office was nice but the electricity was intermittent, the park is very poorly lighted - no light on the sign at the street so good luck coming in after dark - the dock/wharf has fallen apart. It appears that a new owner is trying to renovate but it’s not there yet.

This place is adorable! Smaller size RV park with waterfront sites and sweet common spaces and renovated/shabby chic baths and laundry space. And you can listen to the waves from your RV.The staff are also super friendly.Good cell service and after some repositioning we were able to get satellite tv thru the trees. It’s winter in FL so the rates we paid definitely reflected that. It’s very pricey. A monthly rate might be the way to go if you can stay that long. Have fun!

We were hoping to bike around but the road through town just seemed too dangerous. Unfortunately no campfires are allowed but they do have a community fire pit. We enjoyed ourselves very much...it’s a beautiful little spot. Great laundry and bath house...everything is super cute!

I had a great 30-day stay here with a water View. It is very quiet. The beach is a 2-minute walk. And since it's a private beach your dog can be off leash on the beach. Full hookups. The trees offer lovely shade but does not obstruct the Waterview. The water is clear and lovely and warm perfect for floating on all day
