I called this campground and spoke to a woman on the phone, explaining we would need 10 nights and gave her the dates. I was quoted $115.00 and I repeated it back to her to ensure I understood the amount. It was much cheaper than the place we wanted to stay at, in Colorado Springs, so thought it a good deal. I drove out there two days prior to our first night to see the place and speak to someone in person. I was quoted $105.00 for the same time frame, by two different people ( I left, then came back to lock in our reservation). When we showed up on Sunday, for our first night, the man behind the counter told us that we were quoted the wrong price and refused to honor what we had paid for. We had to pay more money. He was rude and told us to stay or leave (he was also dressed like an absolute slob, in a torn and dirty "wife-beater shirt" and dirty slacks). We have a large rig and didn't want to turn around, felt we could make do with the place. We should have taken the refund and left! How I missed seeing the ghetto look before is beyond me, but the section we stayed in is for full-timers, some unfortunately at a very low income. Several of the rigs are run-down, and several people have dogs in pens, and the owners never clean up after the dogs. The place stunk of horse poo or dog poo all the time. There's a nice playground for kids, that's it. Laundry room is cramped and has no change machine.Oh, I almost forgot. No cell service. I had to go into town and hang out at a charming coffee shop for 3 days straight, to run our business and take care of personal stuff online.
