Many reviews have mentioned the loud music and motorcycles across the street, which is an issue. There is also a restaurant/bar on the same side of the street to the west, and they also sometimes have loud music playing. Last year we were in space A16, which subjected us to the loud noise from both bars. This year we were in space M20, which is on the eastern edge of the campground and away from at least some of the noise. The spaces are too close for our taste and too narrow - our camper steps were above loose rock on a slope, and the space was too narrow to move the camper further to the side to safer footing. And you need to make sure you like your neighbors, which thankfully we did, as there is no privacy. See the photo of the campground map to get an idea. However, our biggest gripe is that the campground changed ownership and the new owners don't deserve our business. And this isn't just our opinion - we were camped across from a couple who have been coming here twice a year for several years, traveling from the east coast, and they said that they will not stay here again. As an example, last year we were allowed to take the camper off our truck. This is a bigger deal than some might realize, as it makes for safer ingress/egress, it makes the camper more stable, and it makes it much easier to get around town driving a truck without the camper loaded. This time, however, we were told that we absolutely could not take the camper off - that the owner didn't like the aesthetics. This is a bunch of hooey, as our camper is one year old, is a high-end model, and there were some older RVs needing maintenance in the campground that obviously belong to full-timers, and those aesthetics were much worse. There are other issues, like the showers and roads showing a lack of maintenance, but the staff (not ownership) were friendly. The location is good, but we won't stay here again. Ever. And we don't think truck campers (and many others) should stay here either.

We ended up having to circle around and drive through another empty site (k3) in order to pull into our spot. This also left VERY LITTLE room to park our dually truck but there is overflow/guest parking provided at the park. The left (east) side of the park is on a slope and not very level (our site wasn't anyway). The right (west) side appeared to be more level. Sites are concrete with a small grassy area in between. The pool was closed while we were there and we didn't use the restrooms or laundry facility so I can't comment on those. We didn't have any issues with the noise levels from the biker bar across the street. This is a very convenient location to access Denver, Golden, and the Red Rock Amphitheater. We just felt it was pricey for what it is.

It is very convenient to historic Golden, downtown Denver and Red Rocks. The park itself is very nice and mostly well kept, the pool was drained when we were there but I think they were doing repairs. The one really big problem we had was the ridiculous biker bar literally directly behind our site. The concerts/music there went late into the night and were LOUD with a ton of bass. And then after that you get to listen to real cool guys rev their Harleys in the parking lot and then at 2am they drunkenly blast up the hill to impress their buddies. This is not the parks fault obviously, but if you can get a site away from the road you will sleep much more soundly.

The pool was not open and under renovation. Biker bar across the street blasting music. Not bad, but just know it’s not quiet. Down the street from a great Mexican restaurant if you need a break from cooking. It’s easy access to highways but not a place you’d stay if you want peace & quiet or resort like amenities. It’s clean.

Our spot was long enough to park our truck and extra vehicle—granted our extra vehicle is very small (Fiat). However, there is plenty of extra parking spots within the park. Laundry facility was big. The pool was closed for the season, but looked like a decent size. We knew there was a biker bar across the street when we booked. We actually enjoyed the bar and went there several times. They have a pretty good breakfast, too. Music is loud, but not unbearable and we enjoyed the free concerts. There is a path and hill behind the park where you can walk your dog—beautiful view from the top. As another reviewer mentioned, the roads are terrible so plan accordingly—lots of pot holes and dips.

We were put on site C-1 with a 40' 5th wheel and full bed truck. The site was small and no space for the truck. All the sites has trucks/vehicles parked all over the place. The sites are not designed for large rigs, yet they keep allowing them which forces guests to be creative in parking a vehicle. The sites are on hills so many not level and it is way too tight to be driving big rigs around the park. The road inside the park has many potholes so be careful. No real area for dogs to do their business. They designated a very, very small patch in the back of the park that is mostly full of weeds. On the plus side, there were a number of doggie stations with bags and trash cans around the park. As the previous reviews state the music from the biker bar across the street was deafening and not what one looks for while camping. I will say they stopped promptly at 10pm but it went on all day until 10pm. Even had a biker rally during the day. Also had to listen to the traffic (and bikes coming/leaving) from the main road. We will not stay here again and encourage others to find a different park. To pay their prices and deal with all of these issues is not acceptable.

Almost every RV or trailer had to use leveling blocks as the pads are mostly not flat and pretty short and tight to boot. In fact, walking around the entire campground, there aren't a lot of lots with a great view. There is a hiking path that leads to a view, but from the park itself, it's pretty limited. That's not the big downer- the nearby biker bar brings with it loud music and long nights. The staff promised a spot with a view. That view happened to be one of a warehouse with tons of free construction and manufacturing noise. Between the biker bar, the warehouse noise and view and the price, we won't be back. Oh, and the wifi sucks. It's not just that the signal was weak- it also dropped connections frequently.

Many sites are not level, which was surprising given the price, but our site was level. The laundry room had 8 washers, 1 commercial, and 6-8 dryers. The biker bar across the street is busy and noisy with an outdoor band Thursday night to Sunday afternoon. Campground is paved and most sites have grass. Their propane pump was out of service for almost 2 weeks, which was annoying, especially for the price. The office does not accept packages. Amazon delivers to your site, but when they use USPS, you have to go to the Golden Post Office to get them. I ended up using the Whole Foods Amazon locker.

My only negative review is the WiFi. I know campground WiFi is always spotty but it was basically us useable. If you are having to do any kind of work and need WiFi you need to have a good cellular data package on your phone or hotspot.

They didn't play too late into the night, but they are right across the street so keep that in mind when asking about a spot in the park. Some sites, I'm sure heard the music way more than we did. Very accessible location in town to get to surrounding areas; super cool hiking trails and mountain bike trails all around. Closest grocery store is about a 6 min drive.

We came all the way from Florida for our daughter's wedding. Due to "Covid" our daughter had to move her wedding date and we were also forced to move our reservation. All makes sense since the government placed a ban on large parties and restrictions on travel. This place did move our reservation and charged us a $35 charge even though the move was not our choice. In any event, we had spoken with the reps. of this place numerous times regarding and most importantly, having access to an outdoor pool and fitness center. Let me get to the point!! We finally arrived here yesterday and guess what, the pool is still closed from last year!!!! Not a phone call, text, letter or email from them advising us of a choice they made, NOT the counties decision and too bad for them NOT the government's call either. We addressed this concern and just as I expected they (2) of them just lied to our faces and then continued to back themselves into a corner. You see, I do my do diligence. I already confirmed the state and county "Covid" regulations. EVERY hotel, RV Park, (public pool vicinity) are open with extra safety rules, as expected. Instead of reducing there very overpriced rate which includes amenities "that we no longer have" the obnoxious lying rep with the most ugly smug attitude just advised us that we can go somewhere else. Well we can't!! All places are now booked and the wedding is days away. There tiny fitness room (10x10) is open with only one rule, "you must be 18 years old", the laundry rooms only rule, " 4 people at a time" and the library/billard room has no rules. REALLY!!!! The staff and owner should be ashamed of how they are lying to the guests in a pompous manner simply because they looked for an excuse to not spend money on opening the pool. Unfortunately for there lack of knowledge and ability to think someone like myself would research the facts, they have been caught in a cheap form of "screwing you". I would never give them 1 star, never recommend them and obviously NEVER RETURN!!

It’s somewhere you stay when you need a jumping off point for Denver, Golden, or the mountains. And for that it’s perfect for that need. We went to a wedding in Golden and were able to Uber back to the campground very easily. The WiFi is barely so-so (2mb download when I tested it and the park’s hotspot was literally at our site) but the staff were on point with a guide in and trash pickup in the morning. All sites are concrete slabs. The pool is nice and very clean with nice patio furniture. You're really close to Golden and Denver. There are tons of bike paths around. Wifi works well with our booster. However, DO NOT stay on the East side of the campground. It's right next to an industrial fabrication facility which runs 24 hours a day 7 days a week. It's extremely noisy. It's similar to living at a Flying J overnight rest stop... Semi-trucks are constantly idling, backing up, heavy equipment is constantly moving... It's basically living in a construction site.Oh... they have rattlesnakes on the South side of the campground... where the dog walks are. That's not fun. Finally, the sites themselves are well spaced. But, the lanes up and down are VERY narrow. A class A couldn't make a turn and damaged our side view mirror. They were nice and paid to have it replaced.

We were backing up to the street and road noise was a bit much, but overall it was really nice. Laundry was spacious and worked well, the kids loved the pool and hot tub. The playground was a bit small. Plenty of grass for the dog.Cell service was good here and the wifi was adequate.

Large RV sites with a large green area on each site. Nice showers and laundry room. They also had a pool and jacuzzi. Staff was very helpful.

Nice front desk staff. Big and clean laundry room. Nice view of the hills in Golden. Disappointed the pool and hot tub were already closed down for the season. We'd stay here again.

We have a travel trailer, 31' overall and while it fit into our back in site, our F150 would not fit and I had to park it crosswise. We paid $54 a night for three nights (holiday rate) and $49 for one night. Yes, it is a bit pricey, but the park is located in town and is one of the very few campgrounds so centrally located. The sites have concrete pads and grassy patio areas. The sites are pretty close together. Our site pad was almost perfectly level. It is a very clean and well maintained campground and even though packed full while we were there it was very quiet. Yes, there is some road noise from nearby highways, but the noise was not that bad. My wife and Granddaughter used the pool and said the area and buildings were very clean and nice. She always checks us in when we arrive at a campground and said the check in staff was very businesslike and made sure we were aware of the rules. I found the staff running around the park on golf carts to be friendly. The campground's wifi is usable for email, etc., but we streamed Netflix using our AT&T Mobley hotspot. The main thing I did not much care for is it seems the power pedestals and water spigots are about half way between the sites. As I type this review sitting in a camp chair right beside our trailer the site next to us power pedestal and water spigot is within five feet. Fortunately, their sewer, while visible, is next to their trailer.

  • Good location for visiting Denver/Golden, but expensive, tight, noisy, and limited dog-friendliness.

Every other place we called was sold out, but Dakota Ridge had spots available for a few days (we had to move sites once) and the staff was friendly and helpful at getting us a reservation. The park is conveniently located for visiting Denver and Golden, we had strong AT&T and Verizon signal, and the free WiFi worked reasonably well, though not exactly fast. Our sites were decently level, though we saw many other rigs with wheels up in the air or many leveling blocks under the tires. The pull-through sites are arranged in alternating directions so on your driver's side you are right next to your neighbor and share utilities between you, and you share your camping area with your other neighbor's camping area. We do not like this arrangement any time we come across it. There's a trail up a steep hill behind the park that leads to an open field with ATV trails criss-crossing it, where we walked our dog. The park has a lot of dog rules and in addition to signing them, we were told when checking in that our dog not be tied outside with us, nor could fencing be put up, and dogs aren't even allowed to be walked on guests RV sites, only the small (non-fenced) designated dog area. By the time we were leaving however, we'd noticed that many of the other residents there had dog fences, dogs tied outside with no one outside, etc. There's a fair bit of noise from the main road and nearby businesses. The park will not accept mail or packages for you. Interior roads are a little tight but manageable. While we are glad we found someplace to land for our repairs, and the staff was friendly and helpful, this isn't a park we're likely to come back to, especially at $63/night (Good Sam + tax).

Mother Cabrini Shrine is very close as is Heritage Square Amusement Park. If you like to bike the trails are endless. Red Rocks amphitheater is about 3 minutes away. The park is in a good setting with nice clean sites which are concrete and asphalt. Every site has a grass area with room for tables and chairs etc. Nice pool, hot tub and laundry/bathrooms/showers. This park is clean and well kept with a friendly and knowledge staff. I have stayed all this park many times and will again. PS- a great place to sit and look through a telescope/star gaze.
