We chose this campground when we could find no space in any of the nearby public campgrounds. We’re not fans of private campgrounds but this is one we’d return to. Sites are somewhat close together but not sandwiched. Depending on which you choose you could have lots of space. Sites 18 and 16 were roomy as were 3, 5, and 30 and 35. Sites are somewhat close together but not sandwiched. Depending on which you choose you could have lots of space. Sites 18 and 16 were roomy as were 3, 5, and 30 and 35. It was not full on the weekend of September 18. No problem maneuvering into our site.Golden Bell is a church camp and therefore there are quite a few rules, notably no smoking or alcohol. None of these were a problem for us. Some of the sites are occupied by longer term campers; pretty sure they are seasonal workers at the camp. All were quiet and friendly. The camp host keeps the area very clean. The office staff I spoke with was friendly and efficient. The big plus with this property is the convenience to the activities in the area. You’re just a few miles away from Divide and from there it’s easy to access the parks and towns nearby. The roads and trails within the Golden Bell property are available to you during your stay. These are great for running or walking with bonus beautiful views.

Also, not all the sites have sewer, which is only a problem because the dump station is difficult to navigate. All that aside, management is odd. They were very particular about rig setup, and they were constantly coming by to check on me and my 4 year old. Also please note: they don’t allow alcohol on site.

The site we stayed at was well maintained and level, with a picnic table, for pit, 30 and 20 amp electrical service. Sewer, and water. All hookups were located centerally. I had to use about 12 ft of sewer hose, 3 ft of electric, and 4 feet of fresh water hose. For all the hookups on my rig. The water pressure was at a max 20psi, and took a few minutes to clear the gunk out of the pipes. The sewer connection was about 5 inches above the ground and even with the black rubber boots had a hard time staying in. It looked like they had multiple trash cans all around the park. Our site was nice and shaded, it looked like most sites were shaded as well. There was a nice size covered picnic area with a soda machine we saw several groups using it. They also had fire wood there, the website said the wood was for a fee, but we observed alot of people just walking up and grabbing, no idea if they had payed or not. We did have several people walk through the empty site next to ours, and someone left a very nice paitned rock next to some of our flowers next to our rig. Our only issue was there was a light on the picnic area, it was bright and flooded our campsite the entire night. It looked like the light really only hit about 5 sites. But it kinda killed the mood for camping for me. The light and the water pressure was the only reasons we have it three stars instead of 5.
