Staff was friendly... park shutting down 2 days after we left... winter season too cold. Close to Cortez and convenient to Mesa Verde. We had good weather, though. Park was fine, pull through and easy to navigate.

  • Good for layover and visit to Mesa verse

As you would expect a koa to be, clean and easy access. Close to Mesa verde national park. One night is enough. Noise is relative to the people around you. Had a big screen tv next to us shine our evening out.????

Don’t understand the glowing reviews. Wasn’t crowded but we were given possibly the worst site. No shade in sight. It was a dustbowl. People speeding by in their autos making it worse. WiFi didn’t work which is a priority for us. I’ll give credit for their attempt at extra coronavirus cleaning.

We were visiting Mesa Verde Natl park. This KOA was close and reviews seemed to indicate it would suit our needs. Very pleased we stayed here! Campground was well maintained and facilities clean. The camp manager Ken was great! We had some electric issues with our rig and he took the time to help us. Will definately stay here again.

The store had everything you could need and the staff was friendly. We would definitely stay here again.

Staff member drives by in his golf cart - right past the site. When called back, he finally got off of his cart and says it was new tires. Huh? When he departed, I asked if he had parked the past two rigs in the site nextdoor as they both blocked us in the ‘pull-thru’ site we were assigned. He shook he head in disgust and drove away.Went to office to discuss propane and egress issue. Was told by manager that I was being rude - he directed me to go back to my campsite and that I was acting like a five year old.Next day, trailer on opposite side was parked so close to us we could hear their music that was played indoors. And on the other side, we were again blocked in by the guest. Please note, this is a KOA - their staff members guide guests into a site.Husband went to office day prior to departure requesting that any new neighbor be parked far enough forward so we could exit. He got dismissed by numerous OKs - when he requested a staff member look at the situation, the request was ignored.Stay away - especially of you are a female. They do not like women here - in particular, those who ask questions - or request that a propane leak be investigated (which, by the way, was leaking....). Sundance RV in town is a good alternative as is the Ute Casino. Not here!

The staff at this campground and very nice and accommodating. We needed to add an extra day due to another campground experience and this KOA was there to help. Beautiful campground with amazing scenery. The dog run is fabulous (3 acres). Plenty of activities for all.Thank you very much for a beautiful vacation!

  • Great location and great dog park, but much of the park is just a gravel lot.

Our area was a huge gravel lot with almost no trees, so it wasn't very attractive. Other parts of the campground are more wooded and look a little nicer. Many of the RV sites are very narrow and close together, with RVs parked facing alternating directions with shared utilities between them (an arrangement we're not fans of). Some of the sites are wider and traditionally arranged--our site was one of these which we appreciated. The free WiFi worked pretty well during the day, but was quite slow during the evenings. Both AT&T and Verizon worked well without a booster. There's a nice walking trail around the nearby lake, and the large Cortez Dog Park is a very short walk from the campground. We loved the dog park and were there with our Lab every afternoon. We'd stay here again, due to the great central location and great dog park.

Only here for two nights and at the end of the season (October 2015) so not really very busy. Nice location, site #110 had a view of Mesa Verde. There are about 3 camping areas which appeared to be tiered so you will have a view of the mountains. As is usual with a KOA, no separation between sites and little privacy. A big plus for this park for dog owners, a 3 acre dog park (operated by the City of Cortez) is located almost adjacent to the park. Just follow short walking trail. The dog park even has a small section of grass and walking trails with wood chips. Never too busy and big enough for any dog visits.Campground sits back aways from main road so I didn't hear any highway traffic.
