If your going there to get away this is the wrong park it was busy noisy at all hours.

  • Some good, some bad. It is a Thousand Trails park after all.

The PBS channels worked well most of the time. As for internet, Verizon was very slow. Our T-mobile hot spot was a bit better but not by much. I think a lot of people here are using Verizon so it gets a bit bogged down. There are some canals that run through the park, it doesn't appear they are connected to any water source replenishing them so the water can look a bit muddy, that being said, there are "fountains" that appear to move the water so it isn't standing. Additionally, there are a lot of geese and ducks because of the water so it can get quite noisey. It didn't bother us but just thought people might want to know. They are building what appears to be a subdivision on one side of the park so Monday-Saturday it is noisey over there. Toward the back of the park by the solar panel area behind the fence is a very loud generator. This is an RV park so noise is just a given but figured people might want to know some of the more "noisey" areas. The dog park is very small, so if you throw a ball for your dog this is not the dog park for you. As most thousand trails parks, there are a number of people who are annuals so they have been here for a while, I know from reading other reviews that people tend to get "turned off" by this but it doesn't bother us.The good-The amenities are well taken care of. Lots of people use the pickleball courts, at 9AM you can join groups playing. The park is next to a wide open field. So while the dog park is not ideal, a lot of people take their dog to the field next door. Lots of trees around the park so you should be able to find a site with some shade for hot days. It is very close to stores so if you are a full-timer like us and you need a destination to catch up on errands, this is the place to do it.Laundry is by app so no need to worry about quarters. There are a couple of good breweries close by, we went to 8 Bit and Karl Strauss. Both had good beer and food with nice patio areas. It isn't far from Riverside (about 45 min) so we did 2 days trips into Riverside. Most people are very friendly, just like most TT parks. They do have 2 pools although only the main one by the front was open when we were there. They have a store open Fri-Sun. The store has basic items, camping items, and beer. You can get packages but you will have to sign up for parcel pending, those lockers are located at the front of the park by the entrance. They do fill propane each day during certain hours.

The laundry machines were a little stinky, but not the worst. It can get really packed here, but our site was more private and backed up to the river. The staff here (the younger guy) was the nicest TT we’ve ever met. He was so helpful and kind every time we saw him. The only downside of this park is the wifi. You have to pay for it (it’s Jabba) and it doesn’t work 90% of the time. We have okay cell service with T-Mobile. Overall we’d stay here again any time.

As full-time RVers we have stayed in 40+ Thousand Trails parks over the last 2 years and this was easily the largest site that we've ever had. Surprisingly there are a lot of pull-through sites at this park. This is extremely rare for Thousand Trails. Super cool! Restroom #5 was close and it has been recently remodeled. Great showers and everything was spotless. There are 2 lodges but we didn't investigate them. Pool was swarmed with kids at all hours. We also didn't try the optional paid wifi but my AT&T phone had 3 bars and the hotspot worked great. My wife's Verizon phone only had 1 bar. Lots of young kids running around and cutting through other people's sites. Thumbs down for the poor parental supervision! Another plus was being able to program 25 over the air TV channels including CBS and NBC. The guard staff were fantastic! They always opened the gate for us, which meant that we didn't have to manually key in the entry code. Recycling bins are available at the front of the park. Plentiful grocery and restaurant options are located just a few short miles away.

This place floods with the rains and many spots were under water and many of the campground roads were covered. That said, sites were very level, and there are trees along with the 'lakes'. This place was good for a stopover but we would not do an extended stay here again.

I really liked this park and think I got there in the fly's off-season. The lakes were finger canals with opaque water. They are stocked with tilapia and you can fish there for a fee, $12 iirc. There were ducks and geese waddling all over the place, I found them quite cute.10/10 will stay here again.

Apparently everyone stays here during the winter months.Signal is great for Verizon, OK for AT&T and T-Mobile, but only AT&T has any spare bandwidth. Signal means nothing if everyone around you is sucking up all of the available bandwidth. From time to time the Roku has enough bandwidth to run great on the Verizon hot spot, however, most of the time it's just stop and go. I would use AT&T all of the time but I've got limited data as a hot spot. T-Mobile is also hit and miss. I haven't tested sprint beyond number of bars as I don't have a hotspot for sprint. The WiFi in this section is worthless. It's slow as heck and not worth anything as it's way less than 1mb for speed (up and down). I'm told other parts of the park are fine for WiFi, but unfortunately we can't move without taking the chance of losing our spot.Internet issues aside, this is a beautiful park. Flat, lots of trees, lots of wide spaces and geese. I don't mind the geese because we invaded their territory. A few goose droppings are part and parcel, so live with it.Everything that you need is within 5 or 6 miles and much under 3 miles. Hero par has a great dog park and lots of nice people with good dogs. Opal, Tanzi, Barkly, and Bernard are regulars (along with others) and our dogs just loved their time there. The campground is easy to get to and the town is big enough to have all of the important retailers and shops while small enough to seem like it's not that urban. If we were ever coming back to this area, I'd want to figure out the best WiFi reception areas. During the last few days of our stay, enough people pulled out so that Verizon was not terrible.

Lots of activity in the 4-6 am time frame people going to work it seems. Lots of dicks/gees and their associated droppings if you like that sort of thing (not for me). The showers/rest rooms are through the park. Problem is there is only one stall for a toilet and a shower. So if someone is in there you have to wait your turn. The staff were nice so that is a plus. At night the road it is located on is more of a drag strip than a road so you'll hear that throughout the night into the early morning hours. Lots of places to eat and shop within a few miles. Stater Bros was a nice food store and close. Cellular internet was good. Seemed the chicken farm was not operating when I was there. Other complained about the flies from there but I did not experience them too bad but there are lots of bugs as there are a number of ponds (for the duck and geese). Sites were gravel and pretty level (with LOTS of duck/goose droppings so be prepared to bring that into the rv or have it stuck to the bottom of your exterior rug and then of course they will do their business on top of the rug as there are ALL over the place - it is a bird sanctuary after all). LA is probably 55 miles or so but give yourself a number of hours to get there (more for Hollywood and the beach or airport) due to there is traffic everywhere you drive.

This place used to be about as middle of nowhere as you could get in the greater Los Angeles area but it's being surrounded by subdivisions and shopping centers now. Not a bad thing though. It's still quiet and rural near the park.We found Wilderness Lakes crowded as it was over the Holidays. But we found a nice site anyway. Like many Thousand Trails, there are lots amenities and activities with many of those geared towards families. Lot's of birds here with all the canals, which are a little gross but no worse than most small urban lakes. Flies are a constant battle too. The nearby chicken farm is probably the reason (flies don't breed in water). We enjoyed our stay. Visited Disneyland and Knott's Berry Farm (about an hour and a half drive) and took advantage of all the shopping and dining in the area. Two suggestions: Watch out for sights that looked to have been flooded. When it rains, some sites flood. Second, be prepared to kill flies.

Some other reviews covered nicely - the park is a bit dated, but lots of things going on. They have a cafe, store, activities, area to rent games for kids, very nice pool and organized nice staff. Pretty much the only negative is there are not enough 50 amp spots. We checked in on a Saturday night which meant we were on 30 amp and we never felt like moving...so we made due. Pretty hot days, but it was fine. FHU though so that was also great.Bathrooms were fine but a bit dated. There were multiple laundry rooms which was convenient since we were in the back of the park.On the weekend there were train rides which were on a tractor pull cart - kids really liked it.Good cell coverage, wifi was paid so we did not use it. Free wifi in lodge that was a bit slow.I would highly recommend this park in the SoCal area!

They were getting ready to resurface the adult pool so the family pool had designated times for family and designated for 18 and older. Mini Golf was a hit with the kids and they wanted to play every day. Our site was near the "pond" that was lacking water but enjoyed all the canals along with the ducks and geese. Laundry was sufficient for our needs as long as we did it early. It would get very busy during the day for laundry. It was close to town so shopping for food and whatever else you needed wasn't a big deal to go get. If you want to see a bit of our time at the park you can see it here https://youtu.be/lmHvKbrKMmk
