However, when I called to make a reservation in November, the nightly rate had doubled over the past 6 months. Nevertheless, it's still a reasonable price for a full hookup site. This small campground is located directly behind a convenience store and the attached BBQ restaurant. Since Springerville is a small town, the campground was very quiet at night even with it being right beside a highway. Most of the campers appear to be full-time residents, and our back-in site was right next to the campground manager's slightly junky site. Overall, there was nothing particularly great about the campground, but it was adequate for an overnight stop. We especially appreciated having easy access to some good BBQ, and I highly recommend the pulled pork at Avery's restaurant.

  • Great location, on-site bar & restaurant, nice shade trees!

We were hoping to spend some time between Pinetop and Greer and we weren't able to get any reservations mostly due to the length of our bus. When searching online we found Avery's in the nearby "gateway" town of Springerville. We ended up staying a month and loved it. There are two great nature/ walking trails on either side of the park, a great small lake for swimming/boating, and it's a short distance to town. We loved Junk N Java, and frequented Avery's bar and restaurant as well. Everyone at the park was helpful and friendly (except for Bob, beware grumpy old man with big deck). Cell coverage was ok but not great, slow speeds, but that's everywhere in this whole region, not just this park.

This was a great overnight stay on our way to Boondocking in southern Arizona. Pull through did not have to detach. Store in front. Quiet even though it’s right on the highway small town.
