The campsite has lots of trees which should make it nice in the warmer months. Bathrooms were pretty clean and there was a nice laundry room. There were a lot of full-time campers. There was also a fair amount of traffic noise at night. On the whole and ok place.

  • A great stop between boon-docking sites. Has everything needed to get ready to go out again!

Full hookups are $41.00 per night (includes tax). They offer a 10% discount for AARP and GOOD SAM members. A 15% discount is available for military. The office was closed when we arrived but there was phone number on the door saying the manager is available 24/7. The majority of sights are back in with only a few pull through. We were asked if we wanted to remain connected to our truck overnight, so that can be an option, depending on what is available. Spaces are wide enough for your trailer and vehicle to fit side by side. The surface is gravel and dirt but level. The park has a lot of mature cottonwood trees to provide shade in the summer. A small picnic table is available at each site. Casa Malpais offers the following amenities: wifi and cable hookup, dog walk/ run area, large clubhouse, book and dvd exchange, laundry ($1.50 wash, $1.50 dry for 45 minutes) and very clean and warm restrooms and showers. There is one shower stall labeled as handicapped accessible but it has a 4" shower pan rim that would need to be dealt with.

New “management”(?) had recently started & were working hard on spring cleaning, so the park was very tidy. Someone was out cleaning/maintaining the grounds & sites daily. Not even piles of dog feces everywhere like most places (seriously, dog owners—show some respect!) Bathrooms & laundry facilities were clean & nice, too. Appreciated the big table next to the washer/dryers for folding clean clothes. The park is easy to find on Highway 60. We heard very little traffic noise, and the park itself was quiet. The RV sites are gravel/dirt, some shade, full hookups. Wifi access was great.

Friendly. Everthing works. Nice place full of trees. A bit of highway noise but a great value on US highways.
