We drove all over Homer to find an ideal spot. If you're looking for a quiet place that is not super touristy, provides a fantastic view with full services and is in walking distance to dining and groceries - this is your spot. The Homer Spit is certainly scenic, but it's super busy and pricey to stay on. This spot is right in Old Town, with several restaurants (yummy Thai, and the fabulous Two Sisters Bakery) and a Safeway just a short walk away. There's a trail leading down to the beach right at the park. They have 11 pull in front facing spots to the ocean with gorgeous views... however there is a dirt road in from of you.. traffic is super low. Their WiFi actually works. They are super friendly. Hint... spot 11 is a 'Premium' spot for 50% more... it's hardly ever booked. Book spot 10, and you get the benefits of an unobstructed side view at a savings :)We loved it here. There's a trolley pick up right at the campground to take you around town.
