It was clear they were trying to send a message by parading around the campground throughout the day and at night with a lighted display. They also displayed the flags all over their campsite located just across from the kids playground. I asked the campground about it, but unlike many campgrounds Leisure Resort allows racist flags and violent symbols at their campground. There's no excuse for any business in America to still be tolerating or supporting displays of racism, violent messages, or hate messages or symbols of any kind.

Sites are relatively level, but will require a block or two. Some are better than others. They’re too close together though. Would love more room. We had a nice breeze the whole time we were there. Occasionally you’d get a whiff of Luling but that didn’t last long. The grounds are large here with some nice walking trails along the river. The older couple that lives and works part time there are very nice people. Lots of things for families to do there. Volleyball, tetherball, pool, playground, trails, etc. Very quiet here, at least during the week. Get a spot away from the clubhouse/bath house area if you can.

The park ran along side the San Marcos River that afforded tubing and fishing, activities for the youngest kids up to older ones. Even the adults. Miniature golf, horse shoes, swimming pool, volley ball, basketball courts, Hiking and biking trails. My only complaint would be they have just two trash receptacles, and both are located at the entrance. So it's either a short hike or drive the trash up with your toad.\, if you're staying more that 2-3 days.Really depends in how much trash you make.

The issue is the RV parking pads are narrow and uneven, some with broken asphalt, and one sitting right on top of the other with neighbors being 10 feet apart, leaving our picnic table situated in back of our neighbor's bedroom. Ugh, for them and us! Roads and pads need a major overhaul.Tent camping and cabins are available. Two in our group rented a cabin and around 1am thought about finding a motel. They said the beds were horribly uncomfortable and the cabin stunk of cleaning fluid. Tent spaces are nice but when everyone arrives for the weekend, the campers are also within earshot of one another, compounded during the day with all the day-use people parking and picnicking. This place was so crowded on spring break weekend, both in the camping area and at the river, that the crowd makes it difficult to find space at the river and is not enjoyable. The entry into the resort is awful when RVs are coming in and leaving at the same time. A traffic jam is created because there is only room for one RV to go through the gate at one time. This urgently needs fixing. Good Sam discount is available. The elderly couple working as work campers in the resort are helpful and pleasant.

There are both back in and pull through sites. The back in sites are larger with a level concrete slap. You have more room to spread out and have a view of the river. You are farther away from all of the other amenities like the pool, playground, putt putt, basketball court, dog park, horse shoes and volleyball court but its a short walk away. The pull through sites are closer together with little room between sites. Our bbq pit was right next to our neighbors RV so we didnt feel comfortable using it. The sites are somewhat paved and/or gravel. We had to use leveling blocks(only a couple). We were however directly across the way from the above mentioned areas. Which is really nice to let the kids run and play all day and be able to watch them from your site. They really enjoyed the park. Also nice to have a dog park and let the furry kids play too. We prefer the pull through sites when we have the little ones with us. When we are on our own then the larger back in sites. There are many activities to do while here including tubing. The park offers a shuttle service too. The river is fun to swim in as well as fish (fishing areas are clearly marked up and down stream, no fishing allowed in the swimming area). The rv park is situated higher up from the tent sites, on a cliff, if you will. The day use can get heavy on the weekends but its never been too bad. I was very impressed with the workamping crew our last time out in March '16. There was a group of teens that were out past quite time and were getting a little rambunctious in the park. The crew got them all back to their sites quickly and quietly. The next day there were reminder signs posted telling everyone of the quiet time policy. That night they policed the area and it was much better. There are over 16 channels OTA for TV, we were able to find plenty to watch on TV. The AT&T cell service was very limited. The parks wifi was slow as well but if you catch it at the right time it worked fine. The facilities were nice and clean, including the bathrooms and showers. This is a great family park with a ton of stuff for the kids. If you want to spread out stay in sites 1-5 or 14-28. If you would rather be closer to the amenities stay in a pull through site. All are good and its easy access.
