The pictures made it look more like you’d be right on the beach, but there are 2 different sides. We stayed in the bayside which was just concrete slabs and gravel, and we were right on top of our neighbors. I think the other side may have been just as tight, but there were more trees and it was on the water. I prefer more secluded and natural areas for camping, so I would not choose this again. But the location to the state park could not be beat, so if you don’t mind the crowd, it might be for you.
Excellent campground despite very little space

Parking was a big tough as the concrete pads are cramped and there are cars and rigs pretty much everywhere, but that can be expected from such a busy place! Food and beach are 2 minutes walk away what is really amazing! Even without other attractions being open the proximity to the lake and convenience make up for it! We are planning to stay there again next year and hopefully longer then this year! Really nice place to stay!

Or its proximity to the beach shore of Lake Erie. Or maybe even it's neighboring border to Waldameer Amusement Park. Be prepared for a wicked friendly welcome, a management team who will work with you to allow you to stay here for your desired time allotment if at all possible, and parking in close proximity to neighboring rigs. If you come with the expectation that you will not have much space to yourself - you will be much more ready for this park. And be ready to use your parking skills - some of the sites are a bit weird to get into. The park is laid out in two separate sections - lakeside and bayside. Lakeside has access to the swimming beach areas - bayside is more sheltered/backs up to a wooded area. Lakeside has tent camping and some roadside smaller rig parking along with lots of ass-to-ass seasonal/permanent campers. The bayside area is mostly for overnighters and shorter stays - as well as the bigger rigs. Mostly back-in sites available. We called about an hour before arriving on a Wednesday evening in early October. The front desk spokesman said they could definitely get us in until Friday morning, but they'd have to work on getting us in through the weekend. By Thursday morning they had found us a spot to stay in through Saturday morning (our requested leaving day). Both sites we parked in had concrete pads, water, 50A, sewer, cable TV, a picnic table, and a fire ring and were on the 'bay side' of the park. There is about 5 feet of space between parking pads. There is also tent camping on the beach at the park - which is really cool. It's first-come, first served style and you just kind of 'find a spot' and 'set-up'. They also permit first-come-first-served rig parking along that beach area - but mostly smaller rigs were parked there. They have access to water/electric. The park was pretty quiet in October - even though it is split by the road leading into Presque Isle. AT&T was pretty abysmal (w/o signal enhancement - we didn't try). Verizon was okay (~5down/~2.5up) w/o enhancement. We were given two passes to use the park's Tengo Internet - but we didn't try it.

One of the main reasons we like staying at Sara's is because of its location to Presque Isle State Park. You can literally walk across the road to a beach on Lake Erie or go a few hundred feet to a walking path into the state park. They do have free wi-fi using coupons they supply at the office at check-in. Our AT&T cell signal bounces from 0 bars - 2 bars while camping, but most of the time we have a decent signal. Not much grass on the sites for transient campers, they have small gravel for most sites around your concrete pad for the RV. We stayed here one night on our way back home. We clearly stated that we had a 34-foot TT with a 19-foot tow vehicle and we needed 55 linear feet for our full rig (we have a Hensley hitch that required the TV and TT to be nearly perfectly aligned front to back to hook up). The office put us in site 8...a 36-foot concrete pad with just the road in front of the pad to maneuver in. It was a VERY tight fit with lots of jockeying the rig to get into the sight. There are only a very small number of siite that can handle "big rigs" and long TV/TT combinations and they book up pretty far in advance. The location is wonderful...very close to bike trails, a water park, amusements and Presquile Island state park. The park is great for walking or biking, particularly in the "off season." Sara's is a very busy campground with few vacancies. if you have a smaller rig, you should be fine. If you have a larger rig, check and double-check with the office when making the reservation that you will have enough room to get into and out of the site. The roads through the park are narrow and the curves are a bit sharp. There is a Walmart, grocery store (Wegmans) and other conveniences nearby. We would stay here again but, only if we can get a site that enables us to get our rig in and out safely.
Tight spaces but to be expected with the location.

Nice park that is well cared for. Paved streets with RV pads of concrete. Very busy and many seasonal people but staff are friendly and helpful. A very good value for the area. Located next to a major state park attraction and lots to do in the area with limited campgrounds available.
