The campground itself is pretty nice with a laundry room, river, and space to walk the dogs. They were really strict about making sure your dog is either inside or when outside on a leash at all times and can’t be tied up outside. While reading the campground rules online it stated that no rvs older than 15 yrs which is fine but then there were older ones when we got there (maybe it’s a new rule?). However, pulling into the town and road to the campground was pretty sketchy. The campground is behind basically a scrap yard of rvs with an abandoned building right outside and a super run down apartment building next door. We didn’t have any issues but were pretty apprehensive because of the area.

We spent one night here on our way from VA to TN. It was a Friday night and the bar/nightclub next door blasted Hispanic music late into the night. We attempted to drown it out with our white noise machine and Fantastic Fan, but this was only moderately successful. A good night’s sleep is important to us; we would not stay here again.

Quiet, secluded campground next to the Catawba river. Hosts very friendly and helpful. Crushed stone driveways and pads, some shade trees at most sites. Hiking paths. Large DVD library to borrow from at the office. Many long-term residents, but everyone's friendly. Close to many Blueridge Parkway attractions.
