We actually notified the lady at the office desk 36 hours before the time we needed to leave, time enough for office lady to tell owner of our plans and for the owner to receive our call and to return our call. They were told that we had been given an unexpected minimal window of opportunity to visit with my nephew in Massachusetts. Personally, I think that was ample time for our request of cancellation and for them to have accepted someone else’s request for a replacement reservation if all parties had been astute. We went ahead and left and when I called the owner on Monday to ask concerning a credit on our account, he said “if I had only known…”. I did my part…..

Super easy to Portland. Fantastic staff, like such nice people. No kids… sorry but it really is a plus. We were super pleased.

Well maintained and clean with love. Beautiful campground with peaceful views. It’s quietly respectful as an adult only campground.
Under pine trees that were sapping. Lots of barking Dogs.

If you are small enough to get one of the van/pop up spots on the peninsula there are some spectacular views- if not you can walk around the park and check them out easily. We are not really city folks but wanted to at least check out the Portland area- sadly we had a lot of rain while we were there. We did manage to squeeze in some surfing at Old Orchard Beach and our dog loved running around on Higgins Beach (off leash) even in the dense fog. We had hoped to take some kayaks/canoes out on the tidal marsh near the campground as well as ride the eastern trail/greenway on our bikes- but time and weather got the best of us.Overall this is a pretty standard RV park, with a little more nature feel than most and a good value for what its near (and compared to other parks in the area). A lot of the sites are smaller, after over a year of traveling we finally got to witness neighbors really failing at parking and taking over 20 tries and a good 45 minutes to successfully back into their site- I think it was them more than the site though as 2 other people stayed in that site during our stay and had no issues. There are a handful of larger pull through spots for those less skilled at backing in.We initially had great internet connection with AT&T and just okay connection with Verizon, but after a big storm came through both were pretty mediocre for the rest of our stay. The laundry room is small with 2 washers and 4 dryers (one was out of order) so we chose to do laundry at a laundromat walking distance from the beach in Old Orchard Beach instead so we could clean everything at once.

Portland, ME does not disappoint and Wild Duck Adult (21+) Campground was perfect. It's a little tight on the small loop road, but we are 45ft and our neighbor was 40ft with an enclosed trailer. The sites in the middle are 50A FHU and pull-through. It was perfect for us, shaded under the trees so even the few days in the high 80's and low 90's were fine. The sites are meticulously maintained, with the team raking pine needles preparing for new visitors. The campground sits right on the edge of the tidal marsh, which is beautiful and full of wildlife (and mosquitoes of course!). The turn-in is off the end of a small residential street so it is quiet. The campground has maybe 30-40% seasonals, who are very friendly, including letting us use their lobster pot to cook our purchases. This is the perfect local/city shopping and place to visit. Here are some of the things you may want to consider:Turner Lobsters, 2.2 miles. Lobster at $4.50/lb.Bayley's Seafood 1.7 miles. Excellent fish sandwich. Two Lights State Park, but just past that is Lobster Shack, eat lobster rolls as the ocean laps around the rocks.Cape ElizabethDowntown Portland, Exchange Street. Shopping, restaurants.Take the ferry island hopping.L.L. Bean, Freeport. And they accepted our Amazon deliveries, which is our lifeblood is a full-timer!Cell coverage: AT&T was typically good (10/2 mbps), T-Mobile was roaming on AT&T, Verizon was busy all the time (2/1 mbps)

Clean beautiful campground with large level sites nestled within large trees. The bathrooms were very clean. There is a small clean laundry. We stayed for the night on our way home. I wish we could have stayed longer. We have a 40 foot 5th wheel and did not have to unhook.

Good sized sites with picnic tables, fire rings, flower, soft lighting, laundry, rest rooms, showers, and outside sink for tenters. Cable TV and fairly fast internet. This is a good location from which to explore Portland and Portland Head Light. There are some great little lobster shacks nearby - Ken's and Bayleys. Good wifi offsets a weak cell signal. They rent canoes and kayaks here.

It's tucked back behind a neighborhood of nice homes and is next to a tidal marsh. Very pretty, very quiet. I will definitely keep this on my list in case we come back through the area. Our spot backed up to a view of the marsh, though I'd go for site 24 next to us if possible. It's more level and larger. Any site backing up to the marsh will have very nice views.Water pressure is high (initially showed 100psi), be sure you have a pressure regulator. For work, AT&T isn't getting any real LTE bandwidth even though the signal is strong. Verizon on the other hand is getting 35mb/down and 7mb/up.
