We had a very tough time finding an RV Park for visiting the Kennedy Space Center and Cocoa Beach area. We started our search about 9 months in advance and we found Joy RV Park on GoogleMaps after exhausting our search and finding everything else full. It was listed under their old name on Campendium (which is now updated). As an FYI, Joy stands for "J is for Jesus First", "O is for Others Second" and "Y is for Yourself Last".This park is located very close to I95 and you will hear traffic all day and night. The park is very basic. There is a small heated pool, no hot tub. The clubhouse is quite old, yet adequate if you wanted to hold an event there. I can say that the restrooms and showers were very nice. They were updated and very clean. However, they are only open from 8:30am - 8:00pm.The office area and check-in process was smooth, easy and friendly. The site was a mix of gravel and grass, as was most sites. There was a lot of rain when we were there and some of the sites (mostly where you park your car) turned very muddy. The utilities at the sites worked as they should and were easy to access. There was free wi-fi that worked sufficiently for me to work from, but could be challenging in the evenings. The park was a mix of short-term and long-term, seasonal people. There were a handful of old RV's that seemed to just be stored in sites. They were covered in mold, slides in and we never saw them occupied. They offer rental RV's that were in a very sad state (see my photo). I never saw them occupied when we were there. Again, they were all covered in mold, very dirty and looked like they had not received any attention in quite some time. Having so many of these old RV's scattered around the park just brought down the experience for us. The location of the park is close to Cocoa Village which is nice for restaurants and some cool small shops. But the immediate area close to the park is not appealing. The park next to Joy that we would walk thru to get our walking steps in had several rebel flags proudly displayed. If we were coming back to this area, we would be sure to plan earlier and find another park.
