Restrooms and showers are hot and dumpy, but reasonably clean. Access to them requires a $10 cash deposit for a key. Laundry is present on site but we didn’t use it. Note.. there are numerous homeless people living out of their cars or in the woods on the access road between the marina/RV park and the Yacht club. Also… it’s still a solid hour to get to downtown or southern Sacramento from here due to traffic so don’t let the map “as the crow flies” proximity fool you.

Very difficult access due to road construction and both driveways being difficult hairpin turns and steep slopes. We were in the lower section, so had to drive back up to the road and back around the hairpin and down an uneven gravely slope. It was challenging backing our small trailer into the site with an uphill slope and large tree close to the narrow road. Watch out for water pipes in the middle of the grass. We called to reserve one night, said we might be homing back the following weekend and would confirm on arrival. Instead, we were charged right away for both weekends and then told of the “no refund” policy. We have credit for a night we won’t likely use.

They need to arrange the park much better we had to parked sideways in order to be able to plug into electric and water our cord did not reach other wise.

Close to Old Town Sacramento. The gal at the desk was helpful, they have street construction going on near the park and she called to ensure I had the correct directions. The entrance isn’t as bad as others stated but you need to unhook your toad before descending. I took a 37 foot diesel pusher down with no problems. Only complaint...moreClose to Old Town Sacramento. This is a small site that seems to have a number of long term renters. My 125lb, 10yr old Mastifff and I were allowed to stay one night but told that we couldn’t stay more due to his size. I drove my 40’ Prevost bus, w my Jeep attached, right down into the lower sight w no issues, but the road is narrow and a little bumpy.I would suggest calling ahead for reservations, it seems that many of their sites are taken up by long term residents who pay weekly, and so they only have a few sites that are for nightly’s.

Close to downtown yet quiet. Most sites have river views. A bit tough to get down into for large rigs. Nice grass. Bathroom is old and in disrepair. I would not use the nasty shower. Charge $2 extra for each dog. ????

The proximity to Sacramento is great, and it's a tranquil little harbor/camping. We were welcomed by staff and permanent dwellers alike, and felt quite at home. There are a couple fig trees full of fruit in September. This was our first campsite after moving out of our house and starting to be full-timers. As we still had plenty to arrange, a big city nearby and great wifi were very much appreciated. We camped at the water. Because the camping is within the levees, there is a risk of flooding in winter/early spring, but in September the Sacramento River is just lovely.

It's right along the river and the w/e spots have some nice tree cover. The upper RV park is full hook-up, but mainly taken up by permanent or seasonal and they are closer together. The lower RV park is w/e only, but the sites are spaced out and not even in a straight line thanks to natural topography. We preferred it. As mentioned, it is a steep drop to get to these spots, but we didn't bottom out or anything. The road along the river to get to and from the park is a little rough, be ready for some shifting of pantry goods. There are two washers and two dryers. I did have to run the dryer twice.

Many were expensive and looked pretty uninspiring. We decided to give this place a go as at least it seemed to be in a scenic location. We were pleased we did. There are absolutely no frills here, the sites are dirt or grass, nothing paved, the access is tricky down a steep unpaved slope, more like a boondocking experience than an RV park. But what the place lacks in facilities and maintenance it makes up for in location. The staff were so friendly and welcoming and a riverside spot for $35 a night, 10 minutes drive from the center of the state capital seems like a good deal to me. I will take scenery and location over facilities any day!
