There was no deposit required at that time. A few weeks before our trip I received a call to verify that we would be coming as reserved which I confirmed. When we got to the park there was no record of our reservation. The park was crowded but I am not sure if it was the pandemic or the high gas prices, there were a few sites still available thankfully. This park is very old and the water and electric were also old. The sites were so close that I was not comfortable starting a fire in the pit provided. The hot spring pools were very nice...thankfully we both bought water shoes before we got there because the algae was plentiful. The showers and toilets were very poor and you had to pay for the showers. We found that most of the people that stay here were locals( within a couple of hours) from the area. The midnight train was VERY loud but we actually appreciate the train noise. We were glad we stayed here to be able to go into the pools but would not likely do this again.

  • Loved it!

My 20' Rockwood Mini has a big slide, and careful and repeated positioning was necessary to avoid the picnic tables and other camper site. BUT, the management is really realIy nice. Make sure you state that you want full hookups - not all sites have sewer. I initially booked 2 nights, and liked it so much I booked 2 more. The hot springs there are wonderful. It's all open air, and at night you are under the sky with views of nearby buttes. Yes, there's a train track with active trains right next to the campground, so you will get trains occasionally. And there is Route 20 noise as well. But the soaks are worth it. All the other campers were really friendly too. Very poor Verizon and ATT. Their wifi was mostly ok but not the best. Overall, great place to stay.

We were thankful to be able to hook up to electricity and use our ac! Pros:We had a pull-through site.We were escorted to our site and given helpful information for setting up.Great location for visiting the area -- especially check out Legend Rock State Petroglyph Site and Wyoming Dinosaur Center. Beautiful surroundings.Thermal pool was very relaxing to head to in the evenings.Water, electricity, and in-site dump worked great.Small laundry facility, though we didn't use it.Cons:Air stank mildly-to-somewhat of sulphur, but that's to be expected with such a large thermal pool within the campground.Thermal pool bottom was pretty dirty and slimy. Surface of water wasn't great either.Sites were very close together. Our site was red dirt, so if it had rained, it might have become pretty gummy, clumpy, or slick.I'd read prior reviews before we reserved at this campground, so we brought lake shoes for use in the thermal pool. The trains either didn't come through very often or we were sleeping or we were off-site -- they weren't a bother to us. My husband had insisted he wanted to try this campground because of the thermal pool; I'm glad we did. We'd go back.

This park has great power 50/30 amp sites with a front row seat to the Maytag Hot Spring, less than 1 mile from the State Park AND it has mineral pools fed by their hot spring on site. Come and just take a soak. The views of the red rocks is just gorgeous. The campground doesn’t have reliable wifi and only one bar of cell service so plan to disconnect a bit and just rest and relax. Some people complain about train noise but I was never bothered. The trains aren’t whistling as the go through. The sites don’t have a lot of space between them, but they are more spacious than the other two campgrounds in town. There are some trees on sites that make slides and maneuvering challenging, but vast majority of this sites are pull through. The campground is in transition. The original owner passed and family members are keeping it now. It needs a little TLC, but still a wonderful place to stay.

  • Don’t judge this place by the scrubby spaces between the sites

We weren’t sure when we pulled in - there is nice grass in one area for walking dogs, but the areas in between the sites are less than great. However, the owners were great and gave us a very nice pull through site. We had a concrete pad for sitting (gravel for the site itself), a picnic table, a bbq grill and a fire pit. The best part of the park is the gigantic thermal pool! It is enormous and has different heat levels. I loved being able to go to it and. It have to go to the public pool at the state park. Due to where we were, our cell phones didn’t work well, but the WiFi was very good. There is a bit of highway noise and once in awhile a train went by behind the park, but neither bothered us. If someone is very sensitive to noise, that could be a negative.

  • No connectivity, dirt and weeds, but the staff was outstanding.

We checked in and the lady at the desk was very nice and accommodating. We chatted and all was well, until my wife noticed there as no Verizon connectivity at all. I asked her about it and she said where our spot was at the far end of the park we might get some. However, there would be no WIFI down there as it was too far.We went to our spot to check it out and pulled into a lot that was dirt and weeds and some gravel. As another reviewer mentioned, a weed wacker would make a world of difference!Anyway, at our spot, we had 0 bars of Verizon and the WIFI would not even show up. Not going to work.I went back to the office and chatted with the lady and explained our dilemma. We have to have connectivity as we both work online. She did offer to move us closer for the WIFI but that still did not help the cell phone issue.I told her we were going to have to leave to find another place. She gave me some suggestions which were extremely helpful. I was prepared to forfeit one night out of two nights of fees. But she refunded both nights as she was confident she would fill out spot.We were very disappointed as we were really looking forward to the hot springs pool! One other note, it sounds like they clean the pool every other Wednesday so the pool is closed. She did explain that to me when I made the reservation, so that was not a surprise and I was ok with it. Just be sure to ask when making a reservation, to be safe.As another reviewer said, a little landscaping, maintenance and gravel would quickly solve the appearance issue. A beefed up WIFI system would solve the WIFI issue. With those two things we probably would have stayed at least one night.

Rolled in for one night and enjoyed the natural hot springs pools. Pleasant and accommodating hosts. Though it’s on the RR track and highway nearby, it was relatively quiet with A/C running. Full hookups so we didn’t use and facilities other than the hot pools. Great spot near the Wyoming State Park.

Very relaxing hot spring pools. Caution, the pool bottoms are uneven and slippery. The campground is a bit run down, many things like showers are in need of repair.

First the good stuff the out door pools / hot springs are 5 stars three pools all attached with three different temps kid friendly, adult and the brave. Camp sites are good size some pull through with full hook up then others with water and electric did not ask or see but could tent camp here also. Big plus dog friendly ! now the not so good keep in mind they just took it over in April just reporting what I saw. The grass ? was mostly weeds something the locals call fox trail it gets into ever thing cloths, skin, sleeping bags and dog fur. Only one bathroom for the men and one for the women toilet keep getting plugged. Just my opinion they could use a good pit toilet at the far end of camp ground. They have 4 showers each take a quarter for a 2 and half minute shower here again please give the new owners time but only one of the four showers worked. They have a on site camp store can not say what its like did not go in but looked nice from the outside. The city park and town of Thermopolis is close by and a vary nice place. I get the feeling vacationers love the town but all the locals just want to get out of there. If traveling from the east to Yellow stone or the Grand Tetons make sure to stop here for a night or two.

They have two huge outdoor pools, which we had to ourselves. This is definitely an older park that could use a lot of talc. The sites are very close together and the drives are also tight, so bigger outfits might have trouble maneuvering in here. Roads and sites are old gravel with grass and trees between. Each had a picnic table. The bathrooms were ancient and could definitely have been cleaner. The showers are pay and are little cell rooms that were not very appealing. The owner was very friendly. No cell service, but the wifi was speller with no one else in the park. Despite the negatives, I would do an overnight here again just to soak in the pools!
