For those planning an overnight stop here, you’ll be sandwiched in together at the entrance road. It’s an itinerant parking lot with services. Walmart - I’m serious - often offers more privacy, convenience and less noise. Time we all adjusted our expectations upward and passed on these dives.

We stayed here on the way to and from Jackson. Convenient not to unhook the trailer for this stop. The location is not great as it feels industrial and it’s right by the highway…which you can hear. Staff is very friendly. It serves is purpose but it’s not a destination.

It was the best spot for us to take a break for 2 nights from our cross-country drive before heading into Utah. Positives: Level gravel pull-through site, good cable. Negatives: Although all hookups and utilities worked, they were awkward to set up due to a wooden border around the hookups area (i.e. had to use two long sewer hoses and maneuver them over the wood block border.) Sites extremely close to one another; basically a gravel parking lot. A personal peeve of mine, especially at a KOA site, is no trash pickup at sites and no escort. People were traipsing across the campground to toss garbage bags into overflowing dumpsters. Having said all that, would likely stay again because it's convenient and well-located to I-80.

This is the third of fourth KOA I've stayed at and it was the best. Nice amenities, clean bathroom, helpful and friendly staff, well-stock store. Considering the high heat (over 90), my only complaint was it didn't look like any of the sites had shade. The place definitely could use a few trees.
Good place to stay. Mostly used by one-nighters.

It is in western WY so it is arid and there is no grass and only a few trees. It is mostly a gravel parking area with sites that are fairly close together. Sites are all pull through with each site alternating direction so that the utility hook ups are between you and another RV on one side and your patio is shared with the RV on the other side. Because of this arrangement, there was plenty of room on both sides. Some of the sites have concrete patios and privacy fences. Most of the sites are fairly level although blocks are needed in some. Interior roads are roomy so maneuvering into and out of sites is easy enough. Staff does a good job assigning the appropriate sites to the size of the RV so that you can remain hooked up to your RV if you want to. This park was full the entire 5 nights we stayed. It emptied each day and filled up each night. Probably 90% of the sites turn over daily. It is an easy off and back on to I-80. Shopping and restaurants are about a mile away. Be sure to make a trip to Cowboy Donuts for the best donuts. There is some road noise and I did hear a train whistle two or three times during our stay but I really didn't notice the noise from inside the RV nor outside during the day. The wind does blow during the day but usually calms in the evening and overnight. Generally it's just a strong breeze. Even though everything is gravel there is limited dust as the driving areas have been treated for dust mitigation. There are about 8 or 9 large petroleum storage tanks that you drive by to reach the park. While they aren't beautiful, they don't cause any issues with staying at the park. In fact, they probably help buffer some of the road noise. The staff here are top notch. Very helpful, attentive and customer oriented. And there's lots of them. The office/store is well stocked with anything you might need including drinks, snacks, frozen treats, hotdogs, RV supplies and souvenirs. They will have a couple fresh baked chocolate chip cookies waiting for you. The office is open until 9pm for late arrivers. There's a nice sized fenced area for the dogs and a playground, pool and bounce pad for the kids. Even though everything is gravel, the kids didn't have any problems riding bikes and scooters. Showers and restrooms are available although we didn't use them. The tent sites look very nice with grass, picnic tables under gazebos and fencing all around. Good WIFI although it does slow somewhat at night once the park fills up. The only negative we had was the utility area at our site (35) was surrounded by railroad timbers making it difficult to maintain a downward flow to the sewer hook up. We would definitely stay here again.

Pull throughs same price as back-ins. Back-in spots are rather small with little room to maneuver. Back-in spots do not receive cable, but pay the same price. Staff is young and very little experience. Everybody tried hard, but pricing was out of line and they need more adult supervision. WiFi is reasonable. Pretty dusty.

Still lots of snow along I-80 and still melting throughout the campground. This created lots of mud along the campground roads and even in the site as the gravel in the site was wearing thin. The hosts were nice and they had a well-stocked camp store. This campground seems to cater to two sets of folks - those traveling through and those working in the nearby oil/gas industry. The CG was separated into an upper and lower area with the upper area appearing to be for longer term stays. It had the necessary amenities we needed for our purposes. Again, good thing we had a reservation as the place was full.

There were many amenities for those campers who like that sort of thing. Our site was level gravel with easy hookups for electric, water and sewer. The staff at the office was very cordial and helpful. We didn't bother to hook up the cable TV but it was available. We'd stay here again if passing through Rock Springs. The newer exit on the west end of Rock Springs is a major upgrade from the old eastern exit with many food choices, stores etc.

The internet is spotty at best in my site, but closer to main building was better. There are no vacuum breakers on the hose bibs so beware of water cross connections. It’s a little pricey for my taste, as I’m used to boondocking but we arrived very late and I was too tired to find dispersed camping for the night. I would pass on this location next time.

In my opinion it’s a completely unacceptable campground for any price. It’s hard to believe this campground has any positive reviews. I guess some people don’t mind paying $45 or more to park on dust and gravel, stare at oil refinery tanks, listen to traffic on I-90, and stand in line to use dirty and run-down restrooms.

Spots are kinda close together, but not a big deal for a night or two. There is long term in the rear of the campground. Best part about the staff here, I went into the shop looking for a replacement fuse I had blown for my truck, they didn’t have it, but one of the staff members said he had a one of his own out in his truck which he would give me, incredible!

The spaces are very close together and they pull neighbors in alternating directions so that you’re facing a neighbor’s front door when you come out of yours, minimizing privacy if you want to eat or cook outdoors. There are some premium spaces with fences and patios but they were all booked. The tent sites look very private with nice grass pads. The trailer sites are all gravel and dusty, but it’s pretty standard. Easy access off the highway and we didn’t experience any noise. The back of the property is very scenic with some off-roaring and hiking trails. If you’re in partial hook ups in the front of the grounds, you’ll be abutting the petroleum factory. The community showers and restrooms seemed pretty clean and well maintained. The laundry was basic and mostly functioning (a few out of order machines), but we did our laundry with no issue. The pool is small but clean and a good temperature. Staff is friendly and the office store is stocked. The area is very nearby to the Northern end of Flaming Gorge NRA which is pretty awesome. Plenty of other things to do nearby, though the towns of Rock Springs and Green River are a little lacking. Guests are mostly transient and, though the park filled up each day, it mostly cleared out by the following morning. Very convenient along the way stop but also nice for an extra night or two to explore the area!

The worst part is they charge extra for kids. Hotels do not charge extra for us to have our 2 kids in the room with us. I don't understand why some campgrounds charge extra for our kids to stay in our RV. That is not family-friendly at all. I am really starting to dislike KOAs because they are already overpriced to begin with and then the "kid tax" just makes it ridiculous. There are many more true family friendly campgrounds out there, especially state parks that are a fraction of the price.
