The sites were over grass and there was a bit of an ant problem but none got in the trailer. The bathrooms were not the cleanest but also not the dirtiest and the shower was adequate. The train comes by quite frequently and always blows its horn as it approaches and crosses an intersection across the highway so be prepared for that ALL NIGHT LONG!The host/resident/owner was very friendly during check-in and gave us our pick of the remaining spots. The back rows were completely full but only a few in the middle were taken and no one in the front row. There are roosters and chickens in a pen to check out (kids loved them) but this was really just a place to bed down for the night and to take showers in the camper. I would probably stay here again but you should pass on this place if you are a light sleeper as the train will likely disturb your sleep, several times an hour, all night long.

Park is nice, setting is beautiful, owners are friendly and nice and the internet is acceptable. But the train blows its whistle 4 times right across from this park every time it comes through and it is a busy RR line. Quite loud.
Acceptable since alternatives are not good

Upon arrival Tom in the office was friendly and pleasant. Check in was easy, BTW, cash or check only. Tom let me have the pick of sites. All sites were grass but the grass was rough in most sites. While overall level I had to find the right spot in the site to be level. While I find ants in most campgrounds I found more here there elsewhere. I try not to park on any hills and that was difficult here. The hook ups worked well. The driveways were crushed red gravel, smooth and well groomed. Puddles did form during the rain but no big deal. Other reviewers mentioned the freight trains. I heard them too but not too often and not bothersome, but I wear earplugs when I sleep, and I slept well. Short ride to Fort Laramie, nice place to spend an hour or two. Gas a few miles away in downtown Lingle. AT&T wireless service was good, so was camp wifi.

Not only is the area beautiful and spotless, but all sites are pull through and our stress melted away over dinner that very night. I'd absolutely recommend Pony Soldier and please tell Julie that Kathy and Elliot say hello! We'd definitely come back if we were ever in the vicinity. Happy travels!!

Full hook ups in a perfect location to visit historic Fort Laramie, the first Wyoming settlement, and turned out to be a very educational and interesting visit detailing the westward immigrant migration. This campground has many spacious pull through sites with clean bathrooms and showers. There were frequent trains, but easily overlooked given the cleanliness and friendliness of the campground owners. Our overall experience was excellent and we would visit again.

This campground used to be a KOA. Its now privately managed and the folks at the office are real sweet. The pull thru sites are easy in/easy out and interior roads are easy to navigate. Its your best bet if you're traveling from the Front Range of Colorado,on your way to the Black Hills/Bad Lands.
