The Holiday Lodge CG comprises 7 FHU RV spots, lined up diagonally in a gravel lot in front of the motel, and while it is not scenic (across the street from fast food and a gas station), it is walking distance to downtown, a short 10 mile drive into Sinks Canyon, and 30 minute drive to Wild Iris. Interactions with their staff, including making reservations and check-in, were all pleasant, and I appreciated their conscientiousness during Covid. Our site was long enough that we were able to access our small garage, though we parked our truck in the motel lot, and our site was very un-level side-to-side. Our utilities were easy to reach and worked perfectly during our stay, and while they offer WiFi, which worked just so-so, Verizon worked without a booster. There is also a bathhouse/laundry (I was told 1 washer/dryer and that it was clean by a neighbor), but we didn’t use either. This is not a destination CG with very little spacing between sites, no privacy, trash/cigarette butts around, and consistent passing traffic, both on the surrounding roads and from cars cutting through the private lane directly in front of the parked RVs. I was able to walk our dog through the surrounding neighborhoods, but the area sees a constant stream of traffic and associated noise. The town of Lander also utilizes a fire siren, and if it goes off while camped, you won’t miss it (we were awakened on our second night at 1:45 AM and thought we were hearing a tornado warning). Other RV and motel noise varied, but I was glad that we often sleep with a fan and a white noise machine. The motel seems to do a pretty consistent business, and as campers we heard many early AM departures (i.e. trucks and motorcycles) and an occasional late arrival. We would consider staying here again, but this is a pretty bare bones spot, could use some TLC, and while the monthly rate of $580 is reasonable, the daily/weekly rates are too expensive for us.
